Quiet please 🤫
Artists are at work!
With the stunning Melbourne weather at the moment (before it changes! 😵‍💫) we headed out on site to watch the boys from Pro Court Surfacing & Construction hard at work getting the coats down.

The Kingston Heath Reserve Multipurpose court is getting an upgrade, when complete it will be a basketball, tennis and pickleball multisport haven. Our Australian made Laykold products are going down layer by layer, where we will see the classic combo of Aussie blue and Dark blue for these courts.

Can’t wait to see it when complete!

📍 Koiwa Park, Edogawa, Tokyo

We’ve shared some of go parkey ’s incredible court transformations before, and this one is no different.

Their “Renovation Art Court” mission is all about transforming unused urban spaces into basketball courts that are open to the public, creating places where people of all ages can get active, shoot some hoops and enjoy their local space.

This court was a collaboration between Go Parkey, and artist , with the artwork inspired by plants grown by Japanese and Japanese American gardeners, bringing a piece of that history and connection into the park.

Our Laykold colours are proudly featured here and used to bring the artwork to life, combining creativity with a specialised sports court coating designed for play. When artists get their hands on our colours, they create endless possibilities.

We can't wait to see the next court come to life!

Futsal season is here! ⚽️

Steve from Pro Court Surfacing & Construction has been installing Australian-made Laykold Gymsports for years, and it was his recommendation that influenced the team at in Broadmeadows to opt for the system.

They’ve loved the finished result — a court built to keep players going all year round.

If you’re visiting Taronga Zoo these holidays, keep an eye out for the playground near the Backyard to Bush and Kids Trail area, around C3 on the official zoo map.

When space is scarce, look up. 🎾

This South Yarra rooftop tennis court is a great example of making the most of available space in an urban environment.

Resurfaced by A.S.Lodge Courts, the court features our Australian made Supergrasse Probounce COOLplus, bringing a fresh, professional playing surface to a location where space is certainly at a premium.

ProBounce COOLplus is one of our premium synthetic grass surfaces, combining a more natural grass appearance with an ITF-certified medium-fast pace rating. And for a rooftop court, the COOLplus Technology is an especially valuable addition. With greater exposure to direct sunlight, reduced heat generation can make a real difference to players during those warmer summer sessions.

A challenging rooftop project, but the team here have certainly raised the game, creating plenty of room to serve, rally and play.

📍 Meadowglen Primary School

The team at Easy Turf did an awesome transformation at Meadowglen Primary School! With multiple areas brought to life using our Australian made Supergrasse product in Multi 19mm Plus which is available through Easy Turf.

What we love about this job is how a small area can be jam packed to create so much activity.
🎾 6 x Hotshot tennis courts
🥎 A softball diamond
💙 A blue synthetic turf assembly stage area

Covering approximately 1,100m² and completed in just 10 days, the new surface provides a durable, low-maintenance and all-weather spaces for students to learn, play and get active year-round. We know that we can look forward to seeing many more of these with lots of installations happening over upcoming the school holidays.

It’s fantastic to see our surface helping create versatile sporting and school spaces designed to keep the school community moving.

Heading into the final part of the year brings countless festivals and celebrations across cultures, and working across the Asia Pacific region gives us so many opportunities to learn about and appreciate different traditions.

Last year, the Bread, Circuses and Home installation transformed Melbourne’s Fed Square into a space exploring Punjabi culture, migration, identity and resilience.

At its centre was an Akhara, a traditional wrestling space with deep cultural significance in Punjabi communities.

To help bring the custom wrestling mat to life, the expert team at Rubberworx were engaged by TILT Industrial Design to complete the installation using our Soft Fall rubber in Canola and Sapphire from our NEO colour range across the floor, seating and backboard.

The installation involved two different rubber thicknesses, with the 35mm dual-density rubber applied to the floor and seat, and 15mm rubber used for the backboard.

It’s not every day you see our rubber become part of a contemporary artwork, but that’s what made this project so special.

A great collaboration bringing together culture, design, craftsmanship and performance.

🎾 Racket sports are having a moment.

With the US Open entering the business end, tennis is taking centre stage, while padel continues to bring new energy to the racket sports community.

From Grand Slam tennis, to a custom padel court taking the spotlight at the iconic Sydney Opera House, Laykold is present across racket sports.

The supply and install were led by Synthetic Sports Group where the project, brought a custom Laykold Padel Flex court to life at the Opera House, featuring our Australian-made Laykold Padel Turf Pro.

A centrepiece of The Padel Invitational, a unique two-day event that brought professional players together with some of the biggest names in Australian sport and entertainment, with a spectacular backdrop.

It was a great showcase of the energy behind the growth of padel and a pretty memorable place to experience it.

📍 Perry Park⚽

A familiar home of the Brisbane Strikers has a fresh surface ready for plenty more hours of play.

Recently, the Grassports QLD team resurfaced the existing futsal field at Perry Park with our Australian made LigaTurf 18/8 system, paired with BrockFILL natural infill built for performance.

For busy sporting facilties, having a high-performance synthetic surface can make a big difference. With training, competition and community use putting increasing pressure on natural fields, synthetic surfaces provide a reliable option for regular training and play helping facilities accommodate more hours on the field while giving the natural surfaces a break.

At Perry Park, the refreshed surface is ready to handle the demands of a busy sporting venue, delivering consistent playability and durability for the hours of training and play ahead.
