It was a pleasure to welcome the Wuhan Open delegates to our Melbourne factory today!

Thank you for making the journey all the way from China to see our manufacturing process firsthand, where we showcased our facilities and Laykold production, including the official Wuhan Open colours and R&D work behind the scenes.

The Wuhan Open will return as a WTA 1000 event in October 2026, played on Laykold, and we’re proud to be supporting the event.

Laykold is already the official court surface of the US Open and trusted by leading tournaments such as the Miami Open and BNP Paribas Open — with Wuhan joining that world-class roster as a marquee stop on the Asia swing.

From yarn production and manufacturing through to warehousing, logistics and project delivery, there’s a huge amount of work behind every surface we produce.

Since 1994, local manufacturing has remained at the core of what we do, helping us deliver surfaces designed for Australian conditions while supporting local jobs, industry and innovation.

This Australian Made Campaign Week, we’re proud to celebrate the people, capability and manufacturing behind our Australian made sports and landscape surfaces.

Since 1994, we’ve been manufacturing locally in Australia, providing surfaces designed to perform in our unique conditions from community spaces through to elite sport.

Across APT Asia Pacific, we employ around 170 people in Australia and only vertically integrated sports surface manufacturer. We are also the only synthetic turf manufacturer producing its own yarn locally.

Our Australian Made certified brands include SYNLawn Australia , Poligras, Ligaturf , Laykold and Rekortan — all proudly carrying the green and gold kangaroo.
