DAY 2
Today was a push across South Australia. After a phone call with the family back in Melbourne I headed off about 7:30am. With being about 100 kilometres out of Renmark I quickly got into the groove and cleared Renmark and headed towards Port Augusta. In no time I was flying through several towns, some of which were quite interesting and I took note to stop on the way back.
Getting up to Port Augusta, did a fill up, and a top off of AdBlue. Now with full tanks and roughly 800km worth of range I drove through Port Augusta and was aiming for Ceduna. This run was actually quite nice, It was nice and sunny 24 and not a cloud in the sky.. It was a 4 hour run from Port Augusta to just outside, of Ceduna where they did were doing a breath testing station and general check of vehicles… Seeing I had to stop in Ceduna I took the opportunity to wash the car and van and top off the petrol tanks for the 100 kilometres drive to where I stopped for the night, at a farmhouse free camp.
Getting in around about 5 PM, I set up, and relaxed while enjoying a cold drink, a cold JD and Coke. Settling in to the night, I found I was quite exhausted, driving of from 7 PM the night before, driving through the night and only having 3 hours rest, then doing a big push to the free camp.
Overall day 2 was a good run. The temperature started to rise, No real rain and 23 degrees… I am ready for day 3!
