The total population of Cumberland as of 2006 census was 89,766. The population is increasing annually due to the increase of medium density development. In Cumberland today, there are residents from more than 122 different countries and over 60 different languages are spoken. Most of the boundary of Cumberland is on two railway lines, one from Liverpool to the City and the other from Penrith to the City. There are 7 railway stations with Cumberland.
