HOBART: Service Diversion - Elizabeth St

Due to an incident, outbound services along Elizabeth Street are currently diverting via Melville Street, Argyle Street, Patrick Street and Elizabeth Street before returning to their normal route. Stop 3 (outside the Salvation Army) will not be serviced during this time.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank customers for their patience while the diversion is in place.

Today we celebrated The Women Moving Metro — the next phase of our Put Your Career In Motion recruitment campaign, encouraging more women to consider a career in Bus Operations.

Metro CEO Jess Paton was joined by Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Kerry Vincent and Metro Bus Operator Jane to share why the campaign matters, and why more women may already have the skills and experience we’re looking for.

The campaign has been shaped by the voices of women already working at Metro and focuses on a simple message: you don’t need previous bus-driving experience to get started.

Bring your life experience and people skills. We’ll teach you the driving.

With six weeks’ paid training, licence support for eligible applicants and a strong focus on helping people build confidence behind the wheel, we’re working to create a clearer pathway for more women into Bus Operations.

We’ve already seen a strong response in the first weeks of the campaign, and we’re looking forward to seeing where it takes the next generation of Metro drivers.
