🏆 30 YEARS IN COTTON 🏆

March saw the beginning of the 2026 Cotton Season and with that, a milestone for Allan and T&FS Woods as they celebrate 30 years transporting cotton along the East Coast of Australia🥇

Whilst majority of Cotton Gins will not commence until Mid April and onwards, it was great to get the wheels turning.

Last week, Luke (our Operations Manager/Director) had the honour of attending the inaugural ACSA Cotton Fundamentals Progarm in Narrabri NSW.

The course was attended by thirty members of the Australian Cotton Shippers Association from all stages of the cotton supply chain.

A variety of topics were discussed by industry experts including cotton growth from the ground up (such as seed breeding and cotton development), cotton classing, the ginning process, the transportation and warehousing of cotton and the advanced skill of cotton trading and understanding an ever fluctuating cotton market.

Luke said his favourite part of the course was learning the ginning process and grading/classing side of the supply chain, whilst also attending site visits to cotton gins and warehouses to get a more in depth look into the industry.

He also said that him loving the course had nothing to do with the nightly dinners and drinks whilst networking with fellow like minded industry members 😂

All and all, Luke reported it was a great course for both improving his knowledge and network and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to learn about the cotton industry outside of their expertise.

Due to some staff relocating, T&FS Woods are seeking MC Drivers for the 2025 Grain season and 2026 Cotton season.

Requirements:

- Successful Applicants must be located in Northern NSW or South East Queensland

- Must undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment

- Must provide a current RMS licence print out

- Experience in Bulk and General haulage is preferred

- Successful Applicants will require BFM accreditation or be willing to obtain

- 3 month probation period prior to full time employment

Remuneration is between $44-47 per hour depending on role and experience, with all unloading and loading paid along with an over night allowance when applicable.

For 60 years this family owned freight and transport business has been servicing the region, and beyond - initially in earthmoving, and for the past 30 years in the cotton and grain industries.
Fourth generation in the business, Luke Woods, works with his father Allan and mother Julie, and is excited to lead the next chapter of the family legacy.

T&FS Woods are seeking a casual HC or MC truck driver for the 2024 Grain Harvest.

This position would be ideal for someone semi-retired or someone looking for a bit of an income boost before Christmas.

The truck would be based in our depot in Moree, but work on/from local farms with the furthest being 120km out of Moree.

Accommodation can be arranged if sleeping in the truck isn't your cup of tea.

T&FS Woods would like to send a massive congratulations to Damien ‘Dato’ Johnson on his first win as a professional boxer this past weekend.

We have been lucky enough to support Damien from the beginning of his journey as he fights to raise awareness for mental health issues and sucide prevention after the loss of his Father.
