Rivergate is very excited to welcome M/Y Purpose to the Brisbane River!

At 55 metres, Purpose was built in America by Trinity Yachts in 2005 and is currently on a global voyage. She will be undertaking some maintenance before enjoying a cruise around Australian waters.

In 2004, Rivergate existed only as a vision.

Early renders depicted a waterfront precinct unlike anything Brisbane had seen before. Planned for a 15-hectare site on the Brisbane River at Murarrie, the development promised deep-water marina berths, dry storage facilities, a shipyard, marine businesses and waterfront amenities, all brought together in a single location.

Throwback Thursday! 💥

We're taking it back to March 2017, when Norman R. Wright & Sons officially joined the Rivergate precinct.

These photos capture the team's first official day onsite, and their first official lift at Rivergate (MY Southpacific II).

Almost ten years later, the renowned Queensland boatbuilder continues to be an important part of the Rivergate community, bringing more than a century of boatbuilding expertise to the precinct.

Another successful Australia Tahiti Rendezvous for the books!

For more than two decades, the Australia Tahiti Rendezvous has helped strengthen relationships between the Australian and Pacific superyacht industries.

As a founding partner of the event since the mid-2000s, Rivergate was pleased to once again support the VIP Captains' Lunch and reconnect with captains, crew, yacht managers and industry partners in Papeete.

Thank you to everyone who made this year's Australia Tahiti Rendezvous a success.

Twenty years ago, Rivergate opened with a vision to create a world-class marine facility on Australia's east coast.

Throughout 2026, we're celebrating that milestone alongside the captains, crew, contractors, suppliers, tenants and industry partners who have been part of the journey.

What started in 2006 as an ambitious idea has grown into one of the country's leading superyacht maintenance and refit destinations, supporting hundreds of projects and helping position Australia as a serious player in the global marine industry.
