On Sunday, Taylor’s Transit participated in Coasting the Coast, an annual event which sees a combination of vintage cars, trucks and buses traverse the Old and current Pacific Highway from Cowan to Swansea. Taylor’s Transit was proud to support another year of CtC, this year being our second year in attendance.

Buses in attendance were all former State Transit government buses, from oldest to youngest, 2326, 2575 3395, 3877, 3880.

Our buses have arrived in Sydney for STA Day and now it is time to announce our newest bus, 3444 which will be on display at the Sydney Bus Museum today. Here is the fleet posing for photos at White Bay prior to arriving for STA Day earlier this morning.

3444 is a 1993 Scania L113TRBL Ansair Orana, and is in brand new Corporate V1 condition which it wore when new back in 1993.

The Sydney Bus Museum's annual STA Day will be taking place this coming weekend on Sunday, April 5th 2026, and we will be proudly supplying some STA buses from our collection to run and be on display for the occasion. Come on down to see and ride some of STA's finest buses from a bygone era of public transport, operating shuttles between Huntleys Point Wharf and the Sydney Bus Museum. For more information, visit: https://www.sydneybusmuseum.com/sta-day

On STA Day, Taylor's Transit will be unveiling our newest bus, being a bus you haven't seen before in our possession, nor would it be one you'd expect to see in our collection at all... it will be a key static display on the museum floor during the day, and is guaranteed to blow you away, presented in brand new, all-original condition.

We look forward to seeing you at STA Day 2026!

Join Jarrad for a nice, country drive in Volvo B10BLE APG Orana #3880, as we traverse the quiet country roads around western Lake Macquarie, as well as experience a ticket machine hiccup along the way.

One of our very own drivers Riley has notched up his experience driving buses as a hobby to now driving buses full time in Newcastle. We first met Riley as an avid enthusiast at STA Day 2023 and we took him on as a driver from there and he hasn't looked back since. It is great to see what he's learnt at TTA has been able to be applied professionally into his new career.

Way to go Riley!

You may have seen a frame in the video from our last post of something you may have thought we'd never consider buying, being a Newcastle based preservation society, but we thought, why not!

Taylor's Transit can proudly announce our newest acquisition 3428, a 1993 Scania L113TRBL Ansair Orana, known otherwise as a 14.5m Orana. Let me tell you, we were very skeptical of ever owning one of these, but this specific one took us all by surprise, was an absolute rocket from day 1 of owning it, with a very loud and healthy engine and gearbox, we were very surprised at how well it ran knowing its age and condition. At this stage, 3428 will not be brought straight into service immediately, as it may be a supplier of parts to continue the operation of the rest of our Orana fleet, however a final decision has not yet been drawn up. Who knows, you might see a TTA 14.5m at the next rally... 🤔

Stay tuned for more updates on this beast throughout 2026!
