Sometimes the best outing doesn’t need an appointment at the end of it.

A swim at Gerringong Sea Pool a gentle walk by the ocean, sitting and taking in the beautiful views, or simply enjoying the fresh salt air can be a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

At Driving Miss Daisy Nowra we can support our clients to get out and enjoy the places they love — and our Daisy Companion Drivers can stay with you, so you have company and support along the way.

Whether it’s dipping your toes in the water, going for a walk, stopping for a coffee afterwards, or simply enjoying a change of scenery, social outings are an important part of what we do.

Because getting out sometimes is about going somewhere that simply makes you feel good. 💛

This is a big reason we love what we do!! This week one of our Daises got to take our much loved client to her grandchildrens book week parade! To be able to assist someone who can no longer drive to still be able to participate in these special moments is what we love doing. Its important not only for our client but for her precious grandchildren who will remember this moment for years to come 🥰

At Driving Miss Daisy Nowra, our days take us all over the beautiful South Coast — helping our clients get where they need to go, while making the journey just as important as the destination.

But did you know you can book a Daisy for as much or as little support as you need?

We can simply take you to your destination, or your Daisy can stay with you — whether that means accompanying you into an appointment, helping with shopping, waiting while you have your hair done, joining you for a coffee, or being there for a longer day out.

And if you'd like to bring a family member, friend or support person along, they're welcome to travel with you too, at no additional charge for the extra passenger.

Introducing another one of our wonderful Daisy companion drivers Malcolm.

Hi , I’m Malcolm and I’ve been with “Driving Miss Daisy-Nowra” since January.
I’ve been asked to write what I like about the job .
It’s pretty simple really, it’s our clients they make our days working so interesting.
Whether it’s a quick drop off to an appointment or spending longer time with them to take them shopping, a day out exploring or being a support person for them when family cannot or aren’t able to be there . As Daisy Companion Drivers we want our clients to know we care and are there to support them when they need help or be there to have a laugh with them over a cup of coffee and a conversation .
Another thing that interested me in the job was the compassion and dedication our boss Brenda brings to the job and how she supports the clients and the Daisy Team.
After 45 years working in in an office environment, having the opportunity to be driving around the beautiful South Coast is also a great way to spend a day with the bonus of helping others

This week our travels took us to beautiful Wreck Bay, where one of our lovely clients calls home.

One of the things we love about what we do is travelling throughout our local communities and helping our clients stay connected to the people, places and everyday things that are important to them.

Whether it’s an appointment, shopping, visiting family and friends, a social outing or simply getting out and about, our Daisy Companions are there from the front door and throughout the journey — with a helping hand, a friendly face and plenty of conversation along the way. 🌼

It’s not always about appointments and outings… sometimes it’s just about getting things done!

At Driving Miss Daisy Nowra, we’re here for more than medical appointments and social outings. Sometimes you might just need a helping hand with the everyday things — like a trip to the local recycling center, running errands, picking something up, doing some shopping or getting those jobs ticked off your list.

Our Daisy Companions can provide the transport, assistance and company to make those everyday tasks that little bit easier.

Why I love working at Driving Miss Daisy Nowra.

Hi my name is Renee and I love my job.
One of the big reasons is the lady I’m pictured with here on the right, from my first phone call with Brenda I wanted to work for her. Her vision of what she wanted her business to be, completely aligned with what I wanted to be a part of, kindness, compassion and companionship! that was in May 2024. There was only three vehicles and three of us working including Brenda. Since then I have seen the business just grow and bloom very quickly! We now have a staff number of 16 and a fleet of vehicles that also includes a wheelchair access vehicle.

I initially started my role as a companion driver, then I moved into also assisting Brenda with administration and day to day operations of the business including now assisting with social media :-)

Brenda is very passionate about her clients and her business, she is generous to her staff and her clients. Brenda has encouraged me and had faith in my abilities much more than I have had in myself, she has trusted me and listened to my suggestions which in turn has strengthened my dedication to my role.

Our clients are honestly the best! My favourite days are being in the car with the clients. I love learning about their lives. I have met so many interesting people and I've heard so many stories, some uplifting, some are shared experiences and some are absolutely heartbreaking. There is something so special that is hard to articulate when you have these moments with someone. I love the total human interaction we get to have with one another.

We also get to have lots of fun with our clients, only last night I enjoyed an evening at Anita’s theatre to see Melinda Schneider, which meant the world to my client. It is so uplifting to know that we can assist people in special moments that they would otherwise miss out on.

Introducing our wonderful Daisy Annette🌼

Hi Im Annette and I’m about to go into my third year as being a Daisy with Driving Miss is Daisy Nowra, it’s incredibly rewarding because it’s about much more than simply getting someone from one place to another. It’s an opportunity to provide comfort, independence, and connection to people who may otherwise feel isolated. I enjoy the conversations along the way, hearing people’s stories, and building genuine relationships over time.

Knowing that I can make someone’s day a little easier—whether it’s helping them attend appointments, run errands, or just get out and about—gives me a real sense of purpose. It’s fulfilling to offer not only safe and reliable transport but also friendly companionship, reassurance, and a caring presence.

I would like to introduce you to our lovely Daisy Julie and the reason she loves working for Driving Miss Daisy Nowra.

Hi everyone,

My driving career with Driving Miss Daisy Nowra began a little over 18 months ago, and I can 110% say it is the best role I have ever had in my whole working career which has been quiet diverse from Pre-School teaching, Cookery, Retail and also working in Aged Care and Personnel Care.

I have to say I look forward to my clients every day in finding out about their lives, families, children, grandchildren and just conversing with clients that do not have a lot of family but love having a chat with a different set of ears.

I love driving from Local trips to Sydney and actually look forward to the long trips as my love of driving, I feel comes from my wonderful father being an interstate truck driver his whole life and running a business with numerous trucks, and also having a truck license for 74 years

I also have to thank our amazing owners, our beautiful office team and incredible team of drivers in making my role so enjoyable.
