There was no wind at all, just the pall of smoke hanging down from the hills, as the fuel burn off marked its annual ritual to stave off more bush fires. And as we turned the corner towards Claremont, suddenly the wind kicked in.

Just another Saturday evening of jetty madness at East Street. At least the sun is out and all the tropical shirts to boot. I think the Hawaiian theme is edging out the Mexican one this season. More customers sporting floral patterns than straw hats. So here’s to Aloha more than Arriba! The Jetty Bar is a great addition to the previously run down East Street Jetty on the Swan River in Fremantle. But it is courting controversy because private boats are not allowed to tie up and enter the premises. This is part of the bar’s lease and should be fiercely controlled as wrong-doers are causing havoc to charter boats and their guests. This is already a problem and causing huge delays for both boarding and disembarking passengers especially in our peak season.
The charter boat world will not accept inaction by any party on this issue. Likewise, charter boats need to be more respectful of the time they are tied up at East Street. If we all work together, this Christmas season will be less stressful. 🎄🤶
