🚌 Bus Safety Week: Be Bus Aware! πŸ›‘

πŸ“… 23 Feb – 1 Mar 2026

It’s Bus Safety Week β€” and everyone has a part to play! Whether you’re walking, riding, driving or catching the bus, let’s make our streets safer for kids and families. πŸ§‘β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦πŸ’›

Here’s how YOU can make a difference:
βœ… Stop! Look! Listen! Think! before crossing the road.
βœ… Wait until the bus has left before crossing the road.
βœ… Hold hands with little ones walking to and from the bus stop β€” until at least age 10.
βœ… Slow down to 40 km/h when bus lights flash β€” it’s the law and it keeps kids safe.
βœ… Take a seat quickly and buckle up if there’s a seatbelt β€” every trip, every time.

πŸŽ’ Parents: please meet your child on the same side of the road as the bus stop β€” never call them across the road.

πŸ“ Kids: be alert, stay back from the kerb and avoid distractions like phones and headphones.

Let’s make this Bus Safety Week the safest one yet β€” share this post and remind your friends and family to Be Bus Aware! πŸšŒπŸ’‘

🚍 School Bus Service Update – Traffic Delays 🚍

Due to ongoing heavy traffic congestion across parts of our network, particularly around Wollondilly Anglican College and Menangle areas, a number of our school bus services are currently experiencing delays both in the mornings and afternoons.

We understand how frustrating this can be for students and parents. Unfortunately, these traffic conditions are outside of our control, and our drivers are doing everything possible to operate services safely and as close to schedule as possible.

Please be assured that we are working closely with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to explore and implement longer-term solutions to help alleviate these issues where possible.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this time.

Staff Safety & Respect
While we appreciate that delays can be stressful, verbal abuse toward our drivers or staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Our drivers are doing their best in challenging conditions and deserve to be treated with respect.

Tracking Your Bus
Parents and students may find it helpful to use third-party transport tracking apps to monitor service movements. Applications such as AnyTrip can provide real-time updates where available.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

🚍 1 WEEK TO GO – Picton Buslines Going Cashless 🚍

From Monday 16 February, Picton Buslines will be fully cashless.
Cash will no longer be accepted on board our buses.

If you don’t currently have a Visa or Mastercard, there are three simple options available:

βœ… Ask your bank for a Visa or Mastercard debit card (instead of EFTPOS-only)

βœ… Australia Post Everyday Mastercard – a prepaid card that can be loaded with cash at any Australia Post store
πŸ‘‰ https://auspost.com.au/money-travel/prepaid-cards/everyday-mastercard

βœ… Picton Buslines Travel Card – available from our depot and can be loaded using cash

This change helps improve safety, efficiency, and reliability for our customers and drivers.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact us or visit the depot β€” we’re happy to help.

Thank you for your support as we make this transition.

🚍 Less than 3 weeks to go – Picton Buslines is going fully cashless 🚍

From Monday 16th February, all Picton Buslines services will move to cashless payments only. This means cash will no longer be accepted on board.

We understand that some customers may not currently have a Visa or Mastercard payment card, so we want to clearly outline the three available options:

βœ… Option 1 – Bank-issued Visa or Mastercard
If you currently have an EFTPOS-only card, you can visit your bank and request a Visa or Mastercard debit card. These cards work just like EFTPOS but are accepted on our buses.

βœ… Option 2 – Australia Post Everyday Mastercard
You can purchase an Australia Post Everyday Mastercard, which works like a prepaid debit card.
Cash can be loaded onto the card at any Australia Post store.
More information here:
πŸ‘‰ https://auspost.com.au/money-travel/prepaid-cards/everyday-mastercard

βœ… Option 3 – Picton Buslines Travel Card
Customers can visit the Picton Buslines depot, where we can issue a Picton Buslines Travel Card.
Trips can be loaded onto this card using cash at the depot, and the card can then be used on board like any other payment method.

This change is part of our move toward more modern and more efficient travel for our customers and drivers.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact us or visit the depot β€” our team is happy to help.

Thank you for your patience and support as we make this transition.
