This is what 28 wire ropes on a defence industry RAS tower looks like when they come in for inspection and re-lubrication.
After years of service there's contaminated grease packed into the strands, and without pulling them, cleaning them down, and physically inspecting every metre β you simply don't know what you've got.
One of the 26mm RHOL ropes told us exactly why this work matters. A single 10m section with 7 separate areas of crushing. That's not something you find on a visual check from the ground.
Every rope went through the Viper β old grease stripped out, fresh lubricant driven deep into the core under pressure, reaching places manual greasing never gets to. What used to take days gets done in hours. Less lubricant used, less waste and it can extend the working life of the rope by up to 300% compared to manual lubrication β which on assets like these, is huge money.
If you're running wire ropes in demanding applications and they're on a manual l**e schedule β or no schedule at all β it's worth a conversation. We can bring the Viper to you.
Wire rope doesn't announce when it's in trouble. That's the job.
