✈️ New Kerbside Assistance Program

Whitsunday Coast Airport is pleased to introduce a new pilot Kerbside Assistance Program for departing passengers who require additional support getting from the car park or designated drop-off area to the terminal.

The service takes off from Monday 29 June and is designed to complement the existing services available through the airline. Our team can provide a luggage trolley, wheelchair at the kerbside or simply an extra set of hands to help you through to the check-in area.

Please note that Airport staff are not trained carers and cannot provide personal care, medical assistance, or assist passengers in or out of vehicles. Passengers requiring a higher level of support should travel with a carer.

📅 Available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
⏰ 8:00am – 4:00pm
📧 Bookings are essential, subject to availability and must be made at least 72 hours in advance via [email protected]

As this is a pilot program, the service will be monitored and reviewed based on community demand and feedback.

On Monday, our very own Chief Pawfficer GJ officially reached an incredible 1,000 passenger interactions at Whitsunday Coast Airport! 🎉🐶

From calming nervous flyers to sharing smiles, tail wags and plenty of cuddles, GJ has been hard at work making journeys a little brighter for everyone passing through our terminal 💙

Whether you needed a quick pat before boarding or a moment of comfort after landing, GJ has been there every step (and paw print) of the way 🐾

Here’s to 1,000 interactions… and many more to come! ✨

We’ve got a great photo to share to kick off the weekend…One of our wonderful team members, Lady, recently had the chance to meet rugby league royalty, none other than Wally Lewis 👑

Known as “The King,” Wally is widely regarded as one of the greatest rugby league players of all time. Safe to say Lady was pretty excited for this special moment and we’re just a little bit jealous!

Big things happening at Whitsunday Coast Airport

We’ve completed an upgrade to the airport’s sewerage treatment plant - a key piece of infrastructure that will support more passengers as our region continues to grow. ✈️

Passenger numbers through the airport have seen strong year-on-year growth, and this upgrade ensures we’re ready to keep pace with that demand while maintaining reliable services behind the scenes.

This marks the first major milestone in delivering the Whitsunday Coast Airport Master Plan - setting the foundation for what’s next 👇
🔹 Expanded Bay 1 – increasing aircraft capacity and helping unlock new routes for visitation and trade - anticipated 2026/27
🔹 Terminal expansion – creating more space for passengers and improved airport services - anticipated 2027/28

It’s all about planning ahead and making sure our airport continues to support tourism, jobs and economic growth across the region.
