From 8pm on Thursday August 5, lockdown restrictions in Victoria have been reintroduced for seven days.

The changes mean there are only five reasons to leave home:
• shopping for necessary goods and services
• care and caregiving
• exercise (within 5km of home, once per day for up to two hours and with household members or one other person)
• authorised work and permitted study
• to get a COVID-19 vaccination.

Recreational boating and fishing are permitted for up to two hours per day, within 5km of home and with one other person or members of your household. Face masks must be worn at all times unless a lawful exemption applies.

It’s essential to regularly check the list of exposure sites and get tested if you have even the mildest of symptoms.

Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions have been reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. This decision has been made to help manage coronavirus (COVID-19) and limit its transmission across regional Victoria.
You can still fish and boat but with the following restrictions:

🛥️ If you live in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, you can go fishing and boating within metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire with one other person or with household members.

🛥️ You cannot travel outside of metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to go boating and fishing.

🛥️ If you live outside of metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, existing restrictions still apply – but you cannot travel into metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to go boating and fishing.

The Murray River will remain open to those Victorians not living in areas with Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions for fishing and boating.

🎣 Fishing and boating will be permitted on the Murray provided Victorians do not land on the NSW side of the river.

🎣 All boats launched in Victoria must be retrieved back in Victoria .

Victorians are being asked to be considered and use common sense when it comes to their activities. And importantly, no matter where you live, if you feel sick you must stay home and get tested.
