Behind every journey is a story.

At CDC NSW, we're proud of the incredible women who help keep our communities moving every day.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing the stories of some of our female bus drivers, highlighting what inspired them to get behind the wheel, the opportunities they've found in the industry, and the difference they make in their communities.

Whether you're looking for a career change, greater flexibility, or a role where you can make a real impact, bus driving could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

We hope these stories inspire more women to consider a rewarding career with CDC NSW.

Today we were proud to host a Bus Driver Information Session in Mt Druitt, focused on creating employment opportunities for First Nations people at CDC NSW.

A special thank you to Joe and Cass for sharing their personal experiences as bus drivers and providing valuable insights into the role. We also extend our thanks to our Recruitment and Operations teams for bringing the event together.

Most importantly, it was fantastic to spend time with our potential new drivers, answer their questions, and share the opportunities available at CDC NSW. We look forward to welcoming some new faces to the team in the future.

Future Guide Dogs Hit the Road with CDC NSW!

Sixteen Guide Dog puppies recently took an important step towards becoming future assistance dogs, taking part in a public transport training experience hosted by CDC NSW in partnership with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.

From boarding buses and finding seats to navigating busy transport environments, the puppies gained valuable real-world experience to help prepare them for supporting people who are blind or have low vision.

We are proud to support initiatives that help make public transport more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

Our Respect Your Driver campaign is rolling out in NSW, and you'll see Ashley's face on buses in the Hunter Valley.

Ashley has been driving with CDC for nearly five years and really enjoys what she does, from school runs to local routes. What Ashley values most is getting to know the faces, routines, and sometimes the stories of her passengers.

"It's a great role that takes patience, focus and respect," she says. "I'm able to communicate with many different people from all walks of life."

For Ashley, having respectful conversations with passengers is what makes her day run smoothly and enjoyably, and it's why she values the campaign.

Behind the wheel of every bus is a driver like Ashley, who brings their heart to their role and a commitment to the people they transport.

Supporting the Next Generation of Storytellers

At CDCNSW, supporting our local communities goes beyond getting people from A to B safely.

Every school day, we help thousands of students travel to and from school across New South Wales. So when the opportunity arose to support aspiring film students from UNSW, we were more than happy to get involved.

Working alongside Annyeong Films, the students filmed scenes for an upcoming production on and around our buses, gaining valuable real-world experience and bringing their creative vision to life.

We're proud to support emerging talent and provide opportunities for students to develop their skills outside the classroom. We can't wait to see the finished production and wish the cast and crew every success.
