Short update on Shipping lanes for our valued Port freight and Warehouse customers.

SEA FREIGHT
Escalating security risks across key maritime chokepoints (including the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea) are contributing to:
Vessel diversions and schedule disruption on select services
Rerouting around the Cape of Good Hope (instead of Suez) on some trade lanes
Extended transit times, congestion at alternative hubs and equipment imbalance risk
War risk and emergency surcharges
These disruptions may also impact cargo not directly moving to the Middle East due to global vessel displacement.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR AUSTRALIAN IMPORTERS & EXPORTERS
You may experience:
Likely cancellations of bookings going to the middle east
Longer transit times and schedule changes / rolled bookings
Capacity constraints (particularly air freight uplift)
Rate volatility across both air and ocean freight
Impacts will vary by trade lane and carrier.

For those that still think the NHVR is a Private business they are NOT their Government.( see below )

The NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator) is a government statutory body.

It was established by the Australian Government to administer the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and regulate heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes GVM in participating Australian states and territories.

The NHVR works alongside state and territory road and enforcement agencies.

Note: Western Australia and the Northern Territory operate outside the main NHVR/HVNL frame

The NHVR is primarily funded through heavy vehicle registration charges collected by the participating state and territory governments. A portion of those registration charges—the regulatory component—is passed to the NHVR to fund its operations.

It also receives:

* Fees and charges for services such as accreditation and permits
* Commonwealth (Australian Government) grants for specific programs and projects, such as heavy vehicle safety initiatives.
