When an off-the-shelf solution doesn’t fit, we make one that does. 🛠️⚓

This trailer sailer came to RMCC with a damaged keel and the original plan of fitting a standard adhesive-backed keel guard.

The problem? The keel’s sharp radius and tight corners meant a standard guard wasn’t suitable, with a high risk of the edges lifting and releasing over time.

Rather than forcing a product to do a job it wasn’t designed for, we repaired the damaged keel and custom moulded a fibreglass composite keel guard specifically to suit the hull.

The result — a strong, permanently bonded solution that adds protection and support while following the exact profile of the keel.

Another big stage ticked off on this build ⚓️

The painting team Paul Bell & Adam Maka have done a fantastic job getting the roof and half of the cockpit into Awlcraft 3000 White, a massive transformation and a finish that really speaks for itself.

RMCC assisted through the fairing, preparation and tenting process, helping get everything ready and keep the job moving through to Top-coat.

With this project now moving into its finishing stages, RMCC’s calendar is opening up for upcoming work across South East Queensland, from Hervey Bay through to the Gold Coast.

This week’s progress ⚓️

The Corian benchtops are now going in across the cabinetry throughout the lavatories, adding another clean, high-end finish to the interior.

Paul Bell and Adam Maka have done another spectacular job bringing the longeron and tunnel into final primer, while finishing the hatch surrounds and cut-outs in Awlcraft 3000 gloss.

Inside, myself, and have continued pushing ahead with the final cabinetry fit-out as the interior steadily comes together.

With this large-scale build nearing completion, RMCC is now taking bookings for upcoming projects across the Sunshine Coast and South East Queensland.

Here's what else has been happening this week. ⚓️

The twin helm stations are really starting to come together.
After lining up all of the B&G displays and instruments, it was time to commit... making some big holes in two brand new helm stations! 😅

We've also bonded in our signature cup holders. This time, instead of the exposed carbon finish, they'll be faired with a large radius, cleanly trimmed and top-coated to match the rest of the helm, giving a seamless factory finish.

A big shout out to Paul Bell and Adam Maka for smashing through the fairing work and getting everything into final primer. The quality of the finish will speak for itself.

Inside, the cabinetry fit-out is moving along nicely, with removable access panels taking shape in the captain's quarters and the starboard forward bathroom. It's been great working alongside Andy Clare Matt lean and aaronmorristattoo and art their attention to detail really shows.

Every week this project starts looking more like a finished vessel, and we're looking forward to sharing what's next.

Last week's update ⚓️

Another milestone on this large composite catamaran project.

Last week we've completed the installation of a Max Power bow thruster, bonding the factory Max Power mounting bracket onto a structurally reinforced recessed skim plate for the retractable bow thruster tunnel. The result is a strong installation with a clean, streamlined finish.

Every component has been carefully dry-fitted, bonded and mechanically fastened before being fully sealed with marine-grade Sikaflex. The assembly will now remain untouched for a full curing period to ensure a long-lasting, watertight seal before final fairing and finishing.

It's the little details and preparation behind the scenes that make the difference to the finished product.

From raw composite to a finished space. ⚓️

A quick look back at the construction of the captain's quarters as it came together. From structural assembly, hatch drainage, secondary bonding and composite fabrication, right through to the completed flow coat and current fit-out stage.

Projects like this are a reminder that quality is built into every stage, long before the final finish is seen.

Big shout out to Andy Clare for being part of it. Always a pleasure working alongside good trades.
