Woohoo 🙌 We hit a milestone today 😃😃😃 Our truck clocked over 20,000 km… She’s been very good to us and only had one minor breakdown. We put her through her paces yesterday with the hectic head wind and heatwave. But yeah very happy with our choice of tow vehicle 😃😃😃

A great place to ride out the heat wave…
The Mighty Murray. A mural trail at Merbein. A delicious lunch overlooking the river… a game of golf for Corey (what was he thinking in that heat!) moving on today… a slight change of direction to drop in on an old friend in a day or so… stay tuned 😜

📍Wilcannia NSW
We arrived in town and decided to have a drive around. Turns out this is one very old town. In the late 1800s it was the third largest port in NSW, only Sydney had bigger ports. The primary produce was wool and the port made it the gateway to the gold fields. Zoom in on the map to find out more 😃

We’re camped on the banks of the Darling River. Life is good 😊

Pics from the Chambers of the Black Hand yesterday… fascinating story of a bored miner who carved sculptures into the sandstone with a butter knife, fork and a piece of steel wool while waiting for tourists to come to visit his opal mine tour. Very impressive work that covers many rooms and then comes out at a gift shop… scroll to the end to see what I bought 💜

Today’s quick adventure into town was to visit John Murray’s Art Gallery! Such a fantastic artist with such a quirky sense of humour that’s portrayed subtly or not so subtly in his works of art. We couldn’t take pictures inside but there’s a selection of murals outside and around town. We saw his work at the Moonie service station in January and fell in love, so glad we got to visit his gallery here too 😃😃😃

Then we visited the Opal Cave… a retail shop for very expensive opal! It was lovely to wander around and look but no Opal was purchased 😳😜😃
