One of the interesting tasks of travelling in this connected age.
Internet and phone access without the monstrous roaming charges.
As one of my phones has an eSIM, I have found a data plan to cover the time I am away. I am not concerned about calls and texts; I will leave a message on my phone stating that I am out of the country until my return date. If the situation is urgent, text me. This way, I only have one phone number on that phone,
As I have data, I have had to make sure I can hotstop the phone so I can use my other devices if there is no wifi where I am.
The eSim was easy to install, and when I get to Canada, I will turn off mobile data on my Australian eSim, switch the new eSim to mobile data only, as it does not have a phone number. Easy.
My means of calling will be WhatsApp and Facebook.
I will see how I go and report back with the details of who I used and how it went.
