✈️ 𝗜𝘀 𝗤𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? 👀

I came across a LinkedIn post from a Qantas employee, and it looks like Qantas is introducing a refreshed booking process.

From what I can see, the new design is currently available for the Sydney to Tamworth route. The page looks much cleaner, with clearer flight details and a better view of available reward seats.
It looks like a welcome improvement to the booking experience!

Today, you can find ANA Business Class reward seats for 20th and 21st October. Even better, 20th October has four Business Class reward seats available from Sydney to Tokyo!

🎟️ Each seat costs 82,000 Velocity Points + $101 in taxes and carrier charges.

💰 The usual cash fare for the same Business Class seat is around $6200.

Travelling with family? Finding four reward seats on the same flight could be a great opportunity to put your Velocity Points to good use instead of paying cash for Business Class.

The partnership will end on 7 April 2027. Here’s what frequent flyers need to know:

🎟️ Classic Reward seats can be booked until 6th April 2027.
🗓️ Already booked? Travel before 7th April 2027 won’t be affected.
✈️ For travel on or after 7th April 2027, affected Qantas codeshare bookings will be updated to an Air New Zealand flight number. You’ll still earn the Qantas Points and Status Credits expected from your original booking.
🔄 Need to change a Classic Reward booking after 7 April? Contact Qantas to rebook onto selected Jetstar flights, subject to availability, or request a refund.
🛋️ Eligible Air New Zealand lounge access through this partnership will also end on 7 April 2027.

The ATO will continue accepting credit card payments until 30th June 2027, giving points collectors more time to take advantage of fee-free payments.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀?

💳 You can continue making eligible ATO payments using a credit card without an additional card surcharge.

✈️ If your credit card earns frequent flyer points on ATO payments, you could earn points on your tax bills without paying an extra card fee.

🏢 If you run a small business, this could be an opportunity to explore business credit cards that earn points on ATO payments.

Just remember, not every credit card earns points on government payments, so check your card's terms before paying.

👀 Interestingly, even though the T&Cs say bookings start after 11am today, I can already see the reduced points prices showing on the Qantas website, and they appear to be available for booking.

𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿:

🇦🇺 Only Qantas-operated Economy Classic Flight Rewards with a QF flight number within Australia are eligible.
❌ Excludes flights to Norfolk Island, Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
💳 The discount applies to the Qantas Points component only, not taxes, fees, and carrier charges.
🎟️ All flights in the booking must be eligible Classic Flight Rewards.
🔄 If you change your travel dates, the new dates must still fall within the eligible travel periods.

👉 Worth checking your preferred routes now, especially if you can find good Classic Reward availability.

NAB has just made a major change to the way credit card applications work in Australia, and it’s not the reduced bonus points. 👀

While many expected banks to cut sign-up bonuses, NAB has made a surprising move by increasing the cooling-off period for personal credit cards from 24 to 36 months.

Until 30th September, the waiting period was 24 months on NAB personal credit cards, and the same card was offering up to 130,000 bonus Qantas Points on sign-up.

With this latest change, the cooling-off period for NAB credit cards in Australia has effectively gone from 12 months to 36 months.

The big question is whether other credit card providers will follow NAB and introduce similar 36-month eligibility periods.
