Built around 1900, this beautiful heritage-era residence reflects the charm and craftsmanship of Australia’s Federation period. 🏡✨ Its elaborate timber detailing, prominent terracotta gables and ornate chimneys give the house a distinctive character, adding to the historic streetscape opposite Weekley Park.

Approximately 126 years old in 2026, this home is a wonderful reminder of an architectural era when decorative details helped give each residence its own personality. Its Federation Queen Anne influences make it a fascinating piece of the area’s architectural story.

Built around the turn of the 20th century, this character-filled property on Toothill Street in Lewisham dates back to 1900, making it approximately 126 years old in 2026.

Once a corner shop, the building has since been converted into residential accommodation, giving it a new purpose while retaining a connection to the past. Its story reflects how historic buildings can adapt to changing neighbourhoods and modern living.

A reminder that heritage isn’t always found in grand mansions or imposing public buildings — sometimes, it lives in the everyday places that have quietly stood the test of time.

Built around 1872, Building 28 at the National Art School in Darlinghurst is a remarkable reminder of Sydney’s past. Once part of the former Darlinghurst Gaol, this historic sandstone chapel has witnessed a dramatic transformation from its original purpose to its place in today’s creative community.

Now part of a campus where history and artistic expression come together, the building reflects how heritage places can be given a new purpose while preserving their connection to the past.

At around 154 years old in 2026, this historic structure has a story that reaches far beyond its sandstone walls. ❤️

Perched along the water’s edge at Circular Quay, these historic waterfront kiosks are a small but fascinating part of Sydney’s harbour heritage. Dating back to the early 20th century, with one building dating to 1908, they have witnessed generations of change along this iconic waterfront. Once home to the much-loved Sydney Cove Oyster Bar, the kiosks entered a new chapter in 2022 with the opening of Whalebridge, a French seafood restaurant overlooking Sydney Harbour. Today, their historic character meets modern dining, surrounded by some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.

Standing strong through more than a century of change, the Wentworth Park railway viaduct in Glebe is a remarkable piece of Sydney’s industrial heritage. Completed in 1922, this historic brick structure once carried freight trains and now supports the Inner West Light Rail. More than 100 years later, its arches remain part of Sydney’s story. ❤️

Standing in the historic heart of The Rocks, the ASN Hotel Building at George Street carries a story spanning nearly two centuries. Originally constructed in 1839, the building was substantially rebuilt around 1890–1891 in the Victorian Italianate style, giving it a renewed architectural character. Throughout its history, the property has been associated with the Australasian Steam Navigation Company, as well as serving as a pub and police station. Listed on the NSW State Heritage Register in 2002, this historic building remains a fascinating reminder of Sydney’s early commercial life and the many changes that have shaped The Rocks.

A date carved in stone tells a story that reaches far beyond the present. At Eileen O’Connor Catholic College in Lewisham, the year 1855 connects this historic site to the early years of Catholic education in the area. Although the college itself was established in 2016, its surroundings carry a much older legacy of faith, learning and community. With its heritage buildings carefully adapted for modern education, this remarkable site brings together generations of history and a new purpose for the future.
