Cheeky hidden 💎

We stopped in to grab one of our favourite road trip staples and this stop did not disappoint!


A sweet window counter set up with fun pie selections that definitely pack a flavour full punch 🤩

Pepper pie pictured here was full of what tasted like smoked meats (chunked style) and hugged in an easy to enjoy gravy sauce filled with onions and flavours that I can't explain.

The best part the pastry knew exactly how to hold each mouthful in place .....each mouthful sat perfect placed waiting for the next..no juggling flopping pastry.
So good!

You know I have many stories that have personally touched my life over the years.
I cannot believe its been 10 yrs ###

At least 414 nuisance alligators have been captured and removed from Walt Disney World property since the tragic death of a 2-year-old boy nearly ten years ago, according to newly obtained state records.

The figures were released just days before the anniversary of the June 2016 attack that claimed the life of Lane Graves at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Lane was playing near the shoreline of Seven Seas Lagoon when an alligator emerged from the water and pulled him in. A state investigation later concluded the toddler had been standing in shallow water at the time of the attack.

Records from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission show that wildlife trappers removed an average of 23 alligators per year from Disney property during the eight years leading up to the tragedy.

Following the attack, the numbers increased dramatically.

A total of 83 alligators were removed in 2016, followed by 57 in 2017. From 2018 through 2025, an average of 36 nuisance alligators were removed annually. At least a dozen had already been captured during the first four months of 2026.

The removals are carried out through Florida's Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program, which responds to reports of alligators believed to pose a threat to people, pets, or property.

Under the program, licensed trappers are dispatched to remove potentially dangerous reptiles from developed areas across the state.

Following Lane's death, Disney implemented a number of safety measures throughout its resorts.

The company added warning signs near waterways, installed barriers in certain areas, enhanced employee training, and increased procedures for reporting wildlife sightings.

Despite the large number of removals, wildlife officials say the program has little impact on Florida's overall alligator population, which is estimated at approximately 1.3 million animals statewide. More than 8,700 nuisance alligators were removed across Florida in 2024 alone.

Some of the captured alligators are transferred to farms, hunting preserves, zoos, or wildlife facilities, while others are euthanized under state guidelines.

The latest figures highlight the ongoing challenge of managing wildlife at a resort property that spans thousands of acres of lakes, canals, wetlands, and natural habitat.

While alligator attacks remain extremely rare, the 2016 tragedy permanently changed how Disney approaches wildlife safety around its waterways.
