Trekking Safety Update in Nepal 🇳🇵🏔️
Following the recent floods of 26 August 2026, the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has shared the latest safety status for major trekking destinations.
The good news is that many popular trekking regions including Everest, Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Helambu, Dhaulagiri, Dolpa, Rara, Humla and Far West remain unaffected.
For Langtang, Kyanjin Valley, Gosaikunda, Ganesh Himal, Ruby Valley and Manaslu, the destinations remain accessible, but some usual road routes are affected and alternative routes may be required.
⚠️ Kailash Mansarovar via Nepal is currently affected and closed.
As the monsoon season is still ongoing, road and trail conditions can change quickly. Travellers are strongly advised to check the latest route status and travel with proper planning before departure.
