Rail Track Association Australia The RTAA, is a membership-based, not-for-profit organisation.

The Rail Track Association Australia, (RTAA), is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to pursuing and promoting the interests of rail infrastructure within the Australian community, with a proud history which began in 1973. We are dedicated to providing high levels of services to our members through the promotion of our strategic priorities. Members come from across the Australian r

ail community and include contractors, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers, academics, regulators, government agencies and individuals. Our strategic priorities are to:
•Promote diverse and inclusive workplaces including broadening the appeal of rail to women, young people and Indigenous people
•Provide national representation to the rail community including through the Field Days, technical and networking events and other RTAA activities
•Share grass-roots knowledge from our generation to future generations
•Promote uniform national track standards through engagement with relevant industry organisations and groups.

🚆 Join us for the Rail Track Association Australia - RTAA Technical Networking Event – 3 September 2025!
Gain insights into Turnouts and Special Trackwork with expert presentations from voestalpine Railway Systems Australia.
Presentations by Brendan Burke, on how voestalpine Railway Systems designs and creates turnouts, Brady Giannangelo, exploring smarter turnout maintenance through intelligent design and Andrew Bussey, offering real-world insights into installing and maintaining special trackwork.

lanning is well underway and we look forward to welcoming our industry colleagues to the Rail Track Association Australia Field Day with Official Partner Sydney Trains on the 8 and 19 May, 9.00am - 3.00pm at 📍 Chullora.
With the Heavy Plant Zone and Tool Yard and Main Hall all full, the Field Day is a great place to see the latest equipment being demonstrated. Exhibitors come from the private and public sectors and cover all disciplines of rail.

What you can expect:
2000+ Attendees
60+ indoor and outdoor exhibitions
15+ onsite demonstrations
Wide variety of plant and equipment on display and in action
Regular engaging technical talks over the two days
Refreshments available to purchase

Transport
• There is no parking available onsite at 📍 Chullora.
• All attendees must arrive by shuttle bus or taxi.
• Shuttle buses are running regularly from 8:30am from 📍 Lidcombe Station to Chullora / return.
• Destination address for public taxi's is 📍 2 Worth Street, Chullora Rail Precinct

Attire
• Chullora is a working rail yard with some uneven ground areas. As a largely outdoor event, all weather is possible. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Program
As always, the presentation program will showcase new research, latest innovations and is the perfect opportunity to share your insights with the industry. These take place across the two days and are approximately 25 minutes duration. You can view this on the app.
