Day 8 we are still in Italy 🇮🇹 We are off to Rome. We have a transfer to and from the ship so we head of with our Driver Massimo 🚌 We are dropped outside the walls of the Vatican City. We arrived before the crowd so the square wasn’t too busy. It’s Saturday so the Pope didn’t come out to say hi I am sure it will be busier tomorrow being Sunday. Rome however was very busy. We checked out the Colosseum, walked the steps of Plazza Venezia, passed by the Pantheon and visited the Trevi Fountain ⛲️ We had a delicious light lunch with a Panini and Peroni and our little Italian host was wonderful. A great little out of the way local shop. We said goodbye to Rome and it was back to our ship in the port of Civitavecchia 🛳️🛳️ we ended the day with a delicious pizza 🍕 because when in Roma eat 🍕🍕😂

Today is day 7 🥵😴 We stayed docked overnight in La Spezia so this morning we got to explore another amazing part of this world. Today was Cinque Terre dotted along the Italian coastline with its 5 wonderful quaint villages with pastel buildings popping up between the cliff faces and the sea 🌊 We opted for a ferry ride to see them from the coastline first. We visited the villages of Manarola and Vernazza and then took a Train ride along the coast to return to the ship. This was a great combination to see it from the sea and the land. It’s hard to see it all in a day but we loved our time there just needed longer. Our dinner tonight … well when in Italy eat Italian so we dined at the Italian Specialty restaurant onboard at Sabatinis 🥂🍝🇮🇹

It’s day 6 and we are docked La Spezia the gateway for Tuscany 🙏🍝🍕🥂 We are docked overnight so we have 2 days to explore. The plan was to visit Florence and a quick stop in Pisa via train as we didn’t have to be back at any set time for departure. Good plan … jumped in a taxi to the train station and the plan unravelled .. it’s a no deal … all trains booked until 13.11 😳🤯😱 Back in the taxi to the port to negotiate plan B. A private van for 8 we are 4 so we needed some friends. We achieved the goal did the hard sell on staying another hour in Florence met our driver Paulo and we are back on track 😅🚐 It was a fast trip down the motorway to Florence where we arrived 2 hours later. We walked, explored, dined, and reacquainted ourselves with the beauty of Florence. Paulo then took us for a surprise and we visited the Statue of David and a perfect view over Florence from high up on the hill. From here it was onto help hold up the leaning Tower of Pisa before returning to the port in La Spezia. It was another full and busy day which turned out better than Plan A 😂🇮🇹🍝🍹

We have gone from Bonjour to Buongiorno and we are now in Italy 🇮🇹 Day 5 and this morning we are docked in Genoa with many options to travel to including Milan which we haven’t been to however today we opted for a tour along the spectacular Ligurian coast visiting Camogli, Santa Margarita and Portofino. We got off a boat to get onto a boat which was the perfect way to explore this coastline. The journey offered breathtaking views of cliffs, coves and charming villages dotted into the hillside. Our first stop was the quiet fishing village of Camogli where we had a yummy Prosecco and local Focaccia tasting overlooking the Sea. After an exploration it was back on our boat to check out Santa Margarita. Unfortunately our time here was short but we managed a Peroni and Pizza before heading off to nearby Stunning Portofino. After wandering in Portofino we boarded our boat back to the port of Genoa where after another very hot day we had a late afternoon relaxed swim whilst awaiting our sail away 🛳️

Day 4 and we are still in France and visiting the island of Corsica 🇫🇷 We dock right in town in Ajaccio the capital and the largest city of Corsica. Fun Fact … this is the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. Another hot day awaits as we walk the streets of the city, visit the morning market, and visit the monuments and home of Napoleon. On the other side of the city but only a short walk is a spectacular beach not a lot of sand but beautiful blue clear water in the Mediterranean Sea 🌊🛳️ Another sail away and Tonight’s dinner is in another Speciality Restaurant.. Butchers Block .. It’s all about the meat .. and potatoes .. but wheres the salad 🐄🤰🤦‍♀️😂

Bonjour 🇫🇷🥖🧀 We are in France 🇫🇷
Day 3 and we have arrived this morning into Marseille 🇫🇷
Fun fact … Marseille is the second largest city in France, the largest port in the Mediterranean and the gateway to Provence visiting Arles, Avignon and Lyon. We are docked about 15 minutes out of town so we make our way into Vieux Port (Old Port) where fishing boats and yachts fill the marina. Perched high on the hill is Notre Dame de la Garde watching protectively over sailors and people of the town. It is a hot day and the sun is scorching so we make your way in search of shade and visit Le Panier the oldest quarter where the streets and alleys are filled with street art and graffiti along with local cafes and culture. As always there is the well deserved beverage after many steps have been recorded and we make our way back to the ship where a refreshing dip awaits. Tonight is a casual dinner after a tiring hot day in Marseille 🇫🇷

Day 2 in the Mediterranean we are still in Spain and we wake in beautiful Palma de Mallorca. It is a stunning sunny day and Mallorca is equally as beautiful. Palma is the capital city of the island of Mallorca, which is one of Spain's Balearic Islands. The city is tucked into the protected Bay of Palma, creating an impressive view from the Mediterranean Sea with its imposing Gothic Cathedral towering above the old town and remnants of medieval walls that testify to its ancient history. We admired the architecture of La Seu Cathedral, Royal Palace of Almudaina and Cathedral of Santa Maria. We wandered and explored the beautiful tree lined streets and narrow medieval alleyways….Fun fact for the day is that the historic centre with its narrow streets and alleys is a maze designed to confuse invading pirates…. The morning felt very calm and relaxed as it was Sunday but around midday everything came alive and opened up. There were many yummy eats and treats to admire and back at the ship we overlooked the many beautiful boats and yachts that filled the large marina ⛵️🛥️ Today we even shared the port with the stunning new Four Seasons Super yacht. Tonight our dining option is another speciality restaurant and always a favourite Crown Grill 🐄🐑 sadly missing tonight is our favourite waiter and friend however he has made sure we were well looked after as always by the crew onboard 🦞 We also enjoy a couple of fabulous shows tonight Viva La Musica and a Candlelight Concert in The Dome 🥳🕯️💃🥂

Welcome to Sun Princess 🛳️ and our 21 night cruise through the Mediterranean 🌊 We will visit 16 ports so it’s going to be a little busy.
It’s DAY 1 and we are embarking in Barcelona. We have been on this ship before so we familiarise ourselves again and settle in before a nice sail away under sunny skies. Our dinner for the first night is in Speciality Restaurant Love by Britto as we dine with a spectacular sunset at sea 🌅🌊🛳️🥂🍷

We awoke to our first day in Barcelona met up with friends Barry & Heike and we headed for the hills … well a mountain … Montserrat ⛰️ Montserrat is a multi-peaked mountain range an hours drive out of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain 🇪🇸 Unfortunately we had a rubbish guide so we missed a lot of information but we visited the Abbey and The Black Madonna. It was a beautiful spot with gorgeous views and a very scenic drive and train ride up to the top. After we descended it was back into Barcelona to take a wander through the gothic quarter where we walked a few more steps and enjoyed a well deserved beverage and tapas. It was a lovely day our time in Barcelona is short as we embark our first cruise tomorrow but we will return 🙏🍺🍷🍹🇪🇸

Well it’s that time of year where we set off for another epic adventure 🙏
Each trip gets longer and more exciting and we are definitely exploring some new destinations this trip. Our love of cruising will take us on the Ocean, down the River and a highlight of expedition cruising. Our first stop is Barcelona where will will cruise the beautiful Mediterranean Ocean for some fun. The trip will then take us into europe exploring Bordeaux on the river. We will embark a spectacular expedition adventure to Antarctica and make our way through South America. Strap yourselves in get ready to travel with us as we explore new lands and wet your appetite for amazing travels. We look forward to sharing our travels with you all and are grateful for the experience 🛳️⛴️🥂✈️🙌
