🇮🇳 Who is Sonam Wangchuk?

Sonam Wangchuk is an Indian engineer, education reformer, environmentalist, and innovator from Ladakh. He became widely known for his work in improving education and sustainable living, and many people associate his life with the inspiration behind the movie 3 Idiots.

Why is he on a hunger strike now?

Sonam Wangchuk is currently on an indefinite hunger strike in New Delhi. He is demanding greater accountability in India's education system following alleged examination irregularities, including the NEET paper leak, and has called for the resignation of India's Education Minister. His protest has drawn nationwide attention, with many public figures urging the government to engage in dialogue while also expressing concern for his deteriorating health.
