🚌 Exploring Incredible Cobbold Gorge! 🐊

What an experience on our Dino Discovery Tour!

After a coffee stop in Forsayth, we boarded the 4WD and headed out to spectacular Cobbold Gorge. Surrounded by sandstone believed to be an incredible 1.7 billion years old, this remarkable gorge is considered one of Queensland’s youngest.

At just 2 metres wide in places, with sheer sandstone walls rising around 30 metres above us, we cruised quietly through the gorge aboard specially designed electric boats.

Along the way we spotted birds, fish and even Johnston’s freshwater crocodiles, while taking in the incredible scenery surrounding us. 🐊

Another unforgettable experience and another reason why Outback Queensland continues to amaze us!

🍫 Day 5 – Tanunda, Angaston & Barossa Treats 🍇🚌

Another beautiful day in the Barossa! We started with a visit to Tanunda, with some of our energetic travellers choosing to enjoy the 2km walk into town, while the rest travelled by coach. There was plenty of free time for exploring and a little retail therapy before everyone regrouped.

Next stop was Mengler’s Hill Lookout and Sculpture Park, where we took in the wonderful views before continuing to Angaston for lunch and a fascinating historic walk through town. Along the way we discovered the old railway station, Bank of South Australia, Town Hall, historic Lutheran Church, blacksmith and many other reminders of the town’s past.

After lunch, it was time for something sweet at Melba’s Chocolates, with a tasting followed by coffee or ice cream enjoyed in the lovely sunshine. 🍦🍫

Then we headed to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop for a talk and some time to browse the shop and put our $10 vouchers to good use!

Tonight we’re off to Club Tanunda for our final dinner together, where we’ll also announce the winner of our tour photo competition. 📸🏆

A wonderful way to finish another fantastic day together.

🍷 Day 4 – A Taste of the Barossa Valley 🌹🍇

A relaxed start this morning before another wonderful day exploring the Barossa Valley, with beautiful gardens, fascinating history and, of course, some exceptional local wines!

Our first stop was Barossa Chateau, where we enjoyed a lovely Devonshire tea and heard more about the history of the Chateau. There was plenty of time to wander through the beautiful rose garden, admire the collection of artefacts and enjoy a little retail therapy.

Next we headed to Jacob’s Creek for a tour and presentation, learning more about this famous Barossa name before settling in for a tasting of their wines. 🍷

Lunch was at Kies Family Wines, a boutique family winery where we enjoyed a sensational meal followed by a wine tasting amongst the vines.

Our final stop for the afternoon was Seppeltsfield Wines, where a fantastic guided tour took us through the history and stories of this iconic Barossa winery – naturally finishing with another wine tasting!

Then it was back to the hotel for some well-earned pre-dinner drinks.

Another fantastic day of great wine, delicious food, beautiful scenery and wonderful company in the Barossa! 🥂💙
