Great news this morning!

TRAVEL ADVICE LOWERED FOR MAJOR MIDDLE EAST TRANSIT HUBS
Smartraveller review shifts advice for UAE and Qatar to level three.
Following intense lobbying from the travel industry, the key Middle Eastern transit hubs of the UAE and Qatar have both been lowered by Smartraveller from Do Not Travel to Reconsider Your Need To Travel.

Advice has also been lowered for Israel, Bahrain, and Kuwait, however Lebanon remains at Do Not Travel for now.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it would continue to closely monitor the situation and keep all Smartraveller travel advisories under review, which it warned could go back up if conditions were to deteriorate.

Government advice has also urged Australians planning to travel through Middle Eastern hubs to make sure they have travel insurance and closely read product disclosure statements for what is and isn't covered.

The development follows a peace deal brokered between the United States and Iran on Monday.
