This a sad loss for a small Australian Yarn business. Iโd like to wish Angela all the best with her next chapter. Re writing one life is extremely fulfilling (I can vouch for this), so I know sheโll be fine.
Now is the time to stock up if you love this yarn as much as I did!
Good luck Ang

This is a very hard post for me to write....after nine incredible years, I have made the very difficult decision to begin winding down Blackwattle Yarn and Fibre.
Hand-dyeing yarn has been a joy and a deeply fulfilling creative journey, but it has also come at a physical cost. Many of you who have visited the farm over the past year or so have seen firsthand the impact itโs had on my health. Despite my best efforts to continue, ongoing injuries and exhaustion have made it increasingly difficult - most days, even walking is a struggle because of the pain in my feet. As much as I love what I do, the workload has become more than my body can manage. With great sadness, Iโve realised itโs time to slow down and bring this chapter to a close. Sadly what I love is breaking me.
Over the next coming months, we will be gradually closing our online store. Myself and my lovely team will be adding a few more items to the website over the next 3-4 weeks as we clear up some projects and yarn still yet to be dyed in our studio, but after that, what you see listed will be all thatโs available - ever.
For those with gift vouchers now is the time to use them as unfortunately these can not be refunded, but what a great time purchase....the last of Blackwattle yarn. The workshops listed currently on the website are still going ahead so if you would like to book one last workshop now is the time to do it. Also unfortunately we are unable to offer any future โdyed to orderโ yarn requests.
I am so deeply grateful for the love and support the crafting community has shown me over the years - from every skein purchased, every workshop attended, to every kind word shared. You have allowed me to bring colour, creativity and a little piece of our farm into your lives, and for that I will always be thankful.
While this is the end of Blackwattle Yarn, itโs not goodbye from us or from our farm. Our alpacas (and llamas!) are very much still here, and we will continue to welcome you for farm experiences, tours and events.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Youโve made the last nine years something truly special. ๐
Lots of love
