Our adventure begins at Shelley Station. This historical relic was once the highest train station in Australia and now serves as the trailhead for our ride. With a group of friends and kids in tow, we pedaled along the old railway line to Koetong, Derbyshire and finally to Bullioh.

ROSELLA'S: Another beautiful bird that's common to see around here is the Crimson Rosella. They love to stay busy eating seeds and generally are seen in pairs or groups.

GAS STORAGE DOOR: We started with cutting all the rust off the door and then putting a new plate on with vents in it. The biggest challenge was getting the door back on!

GAS STORAGE: We've learnt a lot about conversions during the bus build. A key thing is gas bottle storage. Bottles must be sealed off from the living space, securely stored and appropriately vented at the bottom because gas sinks in air. The next job is rebuilding the fold down door on the outside of the bus to fit all of this.

BLUE WREN: If you're lucky you'll see one of these beautiful little birds through the bus window when you're making breakfast. This is a male that was extra curious about our picnic lunch.

OFF GRID POWER: The batteries for the bus have arrived and they're huge and heavy! Thanks to Nick GIltrap for sourcing the right system for us. There's four batteries and they go into a cabinet that gets mounted under the bus floor, which means building a frame for the cabinet to sit in. Guess that's the next job.

ROUND HERE: Even the bins tell a story. Images of houses on trucks crossing rickety narrow bridges and shops fronts from the old Tallangatta township before it was moved to its current day location.

KANGAROO: Distinctly Aussie, on the tail of QANTAS planes and round here you can see them up close. Look out for these on the roads at dusk. Did you know one reason autonomous cars haven't been a hit in Australia yet is because they've had to design a special program just to deal with Kangaroo's jumping style 😂 Some of our locations for the bus are great spots for these types of photos.

GAS HOT WATER: It's always makes us nervous cutting holes in the outside of the bus but this one is worth it. The one thing that separates camping from glamping. Hot showers coming right up with this instant gas hot water heater by Girard.

THE GREEN GALAH: A local social enterprise café on the corner of Banool Road and Towong Street in Tallangatta. One of our go to's for Saturday breakfasts. Their GF dutch pancakes are a definite crowd pleaser. See you there!
