Every year between September and April, one tiny pest causes major headaches for Australian importers. ๐
Meet the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug. BMSB for short.
It hitchhikes inside shipping containers, machinery, vehicles, and manufactured goods from over 40 countries around the world. And if it makes it through Australian borders, the damage to our agriculture could be significant.
That is why the Department of Agriculture enforces strict seasonal biosecurity measures every year. And for the 2026/2027 season running from 1 September 2026 to 30 April 2027, those measures are back in full effect.
If your cargo involves vehicles, machinery, electronics, furniture, or agricultural equipment coming from any of the countries listed in this carousel, you need to be prepared before it ships.
Non-compliance is not just a paperwork issue. It can mean cargo held at port, forced fumigation at your cost, and delays that flow through your entire supply chain.
Swipe through to understand what applies to your shipment and get in touch with our team before September. ๐
