Our Mildura team welcomed students from the Mildura Senior College Clontarf Program to the depot, giving them a firsthand look at the people, vehicles and operations that keep our community moving.

The visit provided students with valuable insight into the diverse career opportunities available within the public transport industry, from workshop and maintenance roles through to driving and operational positions.

Students had the opportunity to explore the depot, see our buses up close and speak directly with team members about their experiences and career journeys. A highlight was hearing from Dylan Scutcheon, who shared his progression from apprentice to his current leadership role, demonstrating the opportunities available for those looking to build a career in the industry.

As a community-focused transport operator, we are committed to creating inclusive pathways into meaningful employment and helping young people understand the range of careers available in public transport.

We are proud to be part of the upgraded Route 463, which began on 4 October, providing improved connections for communities across Melbourne's west.

The extended route now connects Hillside, Fraser Rise, Caroline Springs Town Centre and Watergardens Station, making it easier for local communities to access public transport, education, employment, shopping and essential services.

Free Public Transport for Eligible Carers During National Carers Week

From 10 to 18 October 2026, eligible carers can travel free on public transport across Victoria, including CDC Victoria bus services.

The initiative recognises the important contribution carers make in supporting family members and friends with disability, chronic illness or age-related support needs.

To access free travel, customers must carry either:

- A Victorian Carer Card (We Care)
- An Australian Government Pensioner Concession Card with a CAR code

Carers using a Carers myki can continue to touch on and off as usual, with no fares deducted during the free travel period.

We thank all carers for the valuable role they play in our communities.

Victorian Seniors Card holders can travel free on public transport across Victoria from 3 to 11 October 2026 as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival.

Victorian Seniors can explore Melbourne and regional Victoria with free travel - from Saturday 3 October to Sunday 11 October, as part of Victorian Seniors Festival.

Please carry your Seniors myki and Victorian Seniors Card. Tap on and off as usual – you won’t be charged during this period.

We have received our first batch of electric buses from BYD at our Truganina depot, marking an exciting step forward for the communities we serve across Melbourne's west and north-west.

These buses will soon enter service, bringing the benefits of electric bus technology to the growing communities. As Melbourne's west and north-west continue to expand, so does the need for modern, sustainable and future-focused public transport.

Before the buses hit the road, significant work is taking place behind the scenes. Our workshop and operations teams have already begun preparing the buses by installing passenger information and signage, applying decals, completing operational setup and carrying out comprehensive safety and pre-service inspections.

The arrival of these buses is another important step in our electrification journey as we continue preparing for the future of public transport.

Our Mildura team recently attended the MADEC Job Fair, connecting with local job seekers and showcasing the many opportunities available in the bus industry.

The event was a great opportunity to highlight the diverse careers available at CDC Victoria and the important role public transport plays in keeping communities connected.

To bring the experience to life, the team also displayed one of our buses, giving attendees a firsthand look at our operations and a chance to learn more about the vehicles, technology, and people behind our services.

"We are human."

It shouldn't need to be said, but this is why ComfortDelGro Australia's Human.Kind campaign is so important.

For drivers like Narelle, the human faces of the people behind the wheel need to be seen. "It's really important that people understand that we're just people trying to do our job, the same as anyone else is," she says.

Narelle is one of the faces of the campaign in Victoria, with posters and bus wraps promoting kindness and respect on CDC's buses across Australia. It's an initiative to address rising anti-social behaviour that affects both drivers and passengers.

"I think this campaign will make a difference. Due to the posters being on the bus, right behind the drivers, everyone can see. I like to think this makes a difference to how people behave."

Behind the wheel of every bus is a driver like Narelle, who brings their heart to their role and a commitment to the people they transport.
