Australia's 2026-27 Brown Marmorated Stink Bug season starts 1 September.

A few changes to know: Ethyl Formate can now be used for onshore treatment as well as offshore; breakbulk cargo has a tighter 120-hour loading window with no rolled cargo extension; and the Safeguarding Arrangement Scheme has been discontinued.

Sydney has a new 24-hour cargo gateway. Western Sydney International’s Cargo Precinct opened on 27 July, adding real air freight capacity for time-critical shipments across Greater Sydney. Global air rates remain about 24% above last year, so it still pays to plan ahead.

Blank sailings to Australia have dropped to 6.0%, down from 13.9% two months ago, but that is down to typhoon-driven delays across North Asia doing carriers’ capacity management for them, not a calmer market.
