Travel Club Monthly Meeting - REMINDER

Just a friendly reminder that the Wallis Lake Tourers Travel Club meeting is on TOMORROW, Tuesday the 13th of October at the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club. Doors opening at 10:00am for a 10:15am meeting start.

With the release of a new short Overnight tour and the opening of the Travel Club Christmas Party this will be another great meeting with plenty of people in attendance..!!

🌏❤️ WHAT AN ADVENTURE! ❤️🌏

Nine days, incredible scenery, unforgettable experiences, wonderful food, amazing wildlife and, most importantly, fantastic memories made together.

Our last 2 days of touring were spent at the amazing Monarto Safari Park.

This was truly a great way to finish what can only be described as a tour to remember...

Darwin → The Ghan → Katherine → Alice Springs → Coober Pedy → Adelaide → Monarto → Home.

What an incredible journey! 🚂🌅🦒🇦🇺✨

DAY 6 — Friday 25th September 2026
THE GHAN — Coober Pedy

This morning we woke to the beautiful colours of central South Australia before arriving at Coober Pedy, Australia’s fascinating underground opal-mining town.

Our Off Train Experience took us underground to discover this unique outback community, including a very special underground lunch!

This evening, we enjoyed our final dinner aboard The Ghan and made the most of our last night on this legendary journey. 🚂❤️

🌅 DAY 5 — Thursday 24th September 2026
THE GHAN — Alice Springs

We woke to the spectacular sight of Australia’s red heart! ❤️

After a leisurely breakfast aboard The Ghan, we arrived in Alice Springs and headed out on our chosen Off Train Experience to discover the incredible Red Centre.

That evening was truly special — we enjoyed dinner beneath a blanket of stars at the historic Alice Springs Telegraph Station before reboarding The Ghan and continuing our journey south. ✨🌌

Nights like these ones are the ones we talk about for years to come... A must do and see in the Australian Outback.

🌺 DAY 3 — Tuesday 22nd September 2026
Darwin Free Day
Today was all about relaxing and exploring Darwin at our own pace! 🌴 We wandered along the waterfront, enjoyed the lagoon and explored the city on foot. For those wanting a little more adventure, there were optional experiences available, including Crocosaurus Cove, Litchfield National Park, the Croc Jumping Experience, Kakadu or a Darwin city tour. So many choices! Tonight, dinner was ours to enjoy wherever and whenever we chose. 🐊☀️

🚂 DAY 4 — Wednesday 23rd September 2026
ALL ABOARD THE GHAN!
Today was the day we had been waiting for! 🚂✨ After breakfast, we transferred to the station and boarded the legendary Ghan. We settled into our Gold Class cabins before enjoying a welcome toast in the lounge. As we travelled south from Darwin, we relaxed, dined on regional Australian cuisine and took in the incredible scenery. Our first Off Train Experience took us to Katherine that afternoon. 🥂🇦🇺

DAY 2 — Monday 21st September 2026
Sydney → Darwin
After breakfast, we headed to the airport for our flight to beautiful Darwin!

☀️ It was time to swap those winter clothes for something a little lighter and enjoy the warmth of the Top End.

After checking in and relaxing by the pool, we headed out for a spectacular 2½-hour Charles Darwin sunset dinner cruise, with local seafood, fresh produce and stunning sunset colours across the harbour. What a way to begin! 🌅🦐🥂
