Big news from Byron Biochar ๐ฅ
The KonTiki Native Ironbark โ the big one โ is off the drawing board, and we're looking for the first producer to take it on! ๐
This is the commercial-scale kiln in the range: 1,800 litres of working volume, and around 1,530 litres of settled biochar per burn. It's made for producers working at serious scale โ contract producers, forestry and mill-residue operators, carbon-project folks, big estates and research stations.
Same deep-cone flame-cap design as the rest of the family ๐ฟ 5 mm Corten steel cone, welded steel frame, winch-assisted tilt so you're not lifting it by hand, and castors + forklift pockets so you can actually shift it around the yard.
We build the first one as soon as it's got a home โ so this is your chance to be first in. $13,000 + GST (ex works, shipping quoted separately), 4โ6 week lead time once the build kicks off.
Australian-designed by Gordon Hirst at Epsitech, Australian-made, and proudly distributed by us โ with a nod, as always, to the Ithaka Institute, whose open-source KonTiki design started it all.
Keen to hear from anyone working at this scale โ get in touch ๐ธ
