Another incredible sunrise on top of Kings Canyon.
Mammoth effort by everyone here especially the kiddies.. (IYKYK) the hike to rim walk is known as heart attack hill and it definitely lives up to the name.

The views from the top are worth it though πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ bloody spectacular !
Few sneaky shots from the top and of the "steps" which are basically just rocks positioned well πŸ˜…..

A shot of the Red Centre Way sign and our beautiful view of the Canyon behind our campsite.

Had the most perfect view of the canyon from our spot at the Discovery Resorts - Kings Canyon !
The view during the day was amazing and sunset was jawdropping !

Did a 2 day visit to the canyon first day was the Kings Canyon Creek Walk - on this walk we walked past the steps up to the Rim Walk - check out this on our next post - but the creek walk was spectacular and looking up to the cliff edges was such a site.

Sunrise at Uluru πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’›πŸ§‘πŸ€

Previous post was sunset and this one is sunrise.
Jake & I did the entire base walk around Uluru at sunrise and it was full of stunning views..

The way this spectacular rock formation tells its own story and the shadows and light create different shapes and you just know there is so much history here.

Such an incredible experience visiting an iconic landmark of Australia.
We feel incredibly blessed to have experienced some of the most beautiful places in Australia and looking forward to what comes next.

The colours of this place 😍
β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ€Ž

When we first drove up to Uluru we were amazed at the sheer size and the beautiful colour and then as we got closer the land changed again and again at different angles and different parts of the day it continued to change.

Some of the caves along the way and the evidence of water flowing down was incredible. The way that nature shaped this beautiful place.

At sunset Uluru showed its true red form and stood out against the rainbow sky, casting incredible shadows along the rigid sides of this stunning formation in the middle of Outback Australia.

If you ever get the chance, make sure you visit.

Its been a hot minute ..
First budget post in a while - leading on to where we left off.

Little top up of groceries in Coober Pedy - just milk and fruit - a nice low one to go with the higher cost of others this week.

Fuel ⛽️
This one was a little high ! This was the beginning of the fuel drama back in March but we also drove a lot of kms. This weeks fuel comes from Port Augusta in SA right up to the Ghan in the NT !

Eat Out - only servo food, drinks and snacks on the drive nothing crazy haha.

Other ! This one hit hard - we had to get 2x caravan tyres in Coober Pedy.. unfortunately we had to leave Adelaide early then what we had planned and therefore didn't get to get it done there so the next place we were stopping for a couple of days was Coober Pedy so a few extra dollars in those tyres. This also covered some experiences in the area and our Uluru NP entry pass.

Accomodation was just the Coober Pedy caravan park, Ayers Rock Campground and pre booked for Kings Canyon caravan park. Everywhere else along the way was free camping.

Bringing in the total of $2379.30 - this was one of the higher weeks but over $1000 of that was tyres and Uluru NP pass.

Stayed tuned for the next one !

We left Coober Pedy and headed into the NT.
The fly nets were on pretty much from here onwards and the flies were soooo bad and in high numbers.
We had a travel day and just a free camp along the road on our way to Uluru ! - incoming post on this one !

Also popped in a photo of our least favourite activity (fuelling up) 🀣🀣

Part 2 of Coober Pedy were tried out opal noodling πŸ™Š .. we got ourselves a purple πŸ’œ light and went to the public noodling area and even got a few cool finds ! The tube looking one is a squid tube which was amazing to find.

We got to see a very experience opal cutter and he took us through the process of how he makes the pieces beautiful and ready for jewellery and just ready to sell. It was just us and him and he went into depth and really took the time to show the kids and let them be involved.

We saw a few other things around the town and went to the old timers mine!

Went out for a second night opal noodling - we felt much better prepared and went to a different area. It was a fun experience and we got to keep what we found as well ! We did this all on our own , no guide, as we were there out of season but we had such a great time..

Coober pedy brought some new experience, fun family activities and heaps of learning for us adults and the kids.
Top spot !

We made it to this amazing place !
Rolling up to Coober Pedy you see all the opal mining equipment in the distance and warning signs along the road to not go any further due to open cuts.
On our first day we went straight to the mine and museum and was absolutely incredible.. it was our first taste of the underground life in Coober Pedy.
The tour here showed the old timers way and also the new modern set up of the underground homes. There was tunnels and so much information. The kids had an awesome time and learnt so much too !

This is definitely a must do if you are heading to Coober Pedy !

We ended the day with a stunning sunset looking over the Big Miner πŸ§‘πŸ’›
