Port congestion, weather disruptions, and tightening capacity are pressuring schedules across Asia, while freight rates from Southeast Asia to Australia have also been climbing.

With peak season and Chinese holidays approaching, allow extra lead time and book early where possible.

Typhoon No. 18 "Saudel" is expected to make landfall in East China today, 28 August. This has led to temporary closures of Shanghai, Xiamen and Ningbo Ports, with impacts including:
• Depot and terminal closures
• Vessel berthing and departure delays
• Trucking and cargo delivery delays
• Vessel schedule changes, omissions and cargo rollovers
• Further congestion following the resumption of normal port operations

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as they become available.

• Reduced container availability at some terminals

The United States has introduced new Section 301 tariffs targeting imports from countries that do not meet its forced labour import prohibition requirements.
