Living With Dementia 💙

Join us for the Annual Illawarra Shoalhaven Dementia Forum for 2026. The theme for this years event is “Living With Dementia” and aims to help the community understand it, challenge misconceptions, support families and carers, and most importantly, make sure people living with dementia continue to feel heard, respected, included and valued.

The day is filled with keynote speakers, varied panels and display tables of many local support providers.

Our team will be attending alongside Driving Miss Daisy Dapto to educate the community on what our service offers. This is a FREE event so be sure to stop in and say hello to our teams, learn about dementia and spread awareness.

- I have been a daisy for 4 months.

🌼 What is your favourite thing about being a Daisy ?

- Getting to meet so many amazing people. Its beautiful knowing, being kind and offering a little support really makes a difference to someones day. The days really dont feel like work.

🌼 Do you have a favourite memory from your Daisy Days ?

- Getting to accompany one of our beautiful clients Anna to a lego convention in sydney. We had so much fun together. Even laughed our way through getting lost around olympic park.

Happy Saturday ! Meet our Wonderful clients Margaret & David 💙🌼

When Amanda asked our clients why they would recommend Driving Miss Daisy Wollongong Central to others in the community Margaret replied “Driving Miss Daisy has brought so much happiness to our lives as family can’t always be there. It’s given us a sense of wellbeing, independence &
safety. We no longer feel stranded in our home since we stopped driving”.

For example, they spoke about our Daisies Chris and Amanda who have supported them by taking them out to meet some dear friends and gain access to the community.

When David was asked why he recommended the Driving Miss Daisy service he replied “When I stopped driving it was a shock to the system! We were worried about not being able to get to the chemist or out and about anymore. Then we found Driving Miss Daisy who fitted into our life really well” 😊

Our wonderful clients have been able to regain their independence and social life with our companion transport services 😊🚙
