Containers for Change QLD has become part of everyday recycling for our teams at the Port, and since July 2020, we've recycled more than 200,000 containers through the program, generating over $20,000 for our employee charity partners along the way!

A big part of this has come the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal, where passengers and visitors help turn everyday recycling into support for important community causes.

Alongside collections from our operational worksites, including our crew onboard the TSHD Brisbane, these efforts have diverted thousands of containers from landfill while raising funds to support our community partners.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this fantastic result! 💚♻️

The proposed Channel Enhancement Project is an important long-term project to help support future trade growth for Queensland.

A new project update is now available on our website, which also includes project map, fact sheets, timeline, videos and a feedback form.

We're also hosting community drop-in information sessions in Bribie Island, Redcliffe, Caloundra and the Redlands throughout September and October for community members to learn more about the project.

What a turnout for our 17th annual Safety 1 Forum!

Over 230 members of the Port of Brisbane community from across 44 different businesses came together to focus on health, safety and wellbeing.

This year we talked about ‘Safe by Design’ with our returning keynote speaker Matt Hall Racing and Patrick Terminals’ Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment Nathan Beves which, at its core, is about ensuring people and safety remain at the centre of how we work each day.

A big thank you to our sponsors, Patrick Terminals, Qube, Queensland Bulk Handling, Svitzer Australia, Blue Water Shipping, and MEDLOG Transport & Logistics and to the trade stand holders, who help to make this event possible.

It was a beautiful day to welcome over 1,000 community members to the Port of Brisbane on Saturday to explore the Port Office, Patrick Terminals Brisbane AutoStrad, and Svitzer Australia’s Brisbane Tug Base as part of Brisbane Open House. It’s always a fantastic opportunity to share what goes on behind the scenes at Queensland’s largest multi-cargo port.

A huge thank you also to both Patrick Terminals and Svitzer who each fundraised for Mission to Seafarers, with over $3,000 raised in total to support their important work.

Congratulations to Brisbane Open House for coordinating this amazing free event for our city.

For 50 years, the Port of Brisbane has helped connect Queensland trade to the world.

Connecting Queensland exporters with global markets and enabling the flow of goods that communities and regions rely on every day.

In 1976, what began as a bold vision – to create a deepwater port at Fisherman Islands to support a growing city – has grown into one of Queensland's most important pieces of infrastructure.

Today, the Port facilitates around $73.5 billion in international trade every year, is home to more than 80 trade businesses, and supports more than 10,000 jobs within the precinct.

As we mark this milestone, we'll be looking back at the people, partnerships and projects that have helped shape the Port of Brisbane while continuing to look ahead to supporting Queensland’s prosperity for decades to come.
