A pleasant surprise today to welcome Rose Donald at Yarram Aerodrome on her way to being the youngest female pilot to circumnavigate Australia in a general aviation aircraft. She had just come across Bass Strait from Tasmania. She started the trip as a 17 year old and had her 18th birthday a few days ago.

Some good news coming from Wellington Shire this morning, all landing fees at Yarram Aerodrome will be waived for 4 days over the Easter weekend. This will be great news for participants in the spot landing competition that's scheduled for Easter Sunday.

Productive day at Yarram Aerodrome today. A working bee to remove the chain mesh fence in front of the the new terminal building. Replaced with a safety glass fence funded by the Yarram Aero Club.

Well, after a long wait, the new terminal building at Yarram Aerodrome is now pretty much complete. A bit more cosmetic stuff outside will finish off the job. Locals and visiting pilots and passengers can now use this new facility. To complete the building there was a significant contribution from the Wellington Shire Council with some funds contributed by the Yarram Aero Club.

Great to see Latrobe Regional Airport has realised that landing fees hinder recreational aviation. Hopefully this is a start and other airports follow. One day a month of waived fees.
