IMPORTANT INFO - LILYDALE AIRPORT OPERATIONS

As the COVID-19 Coronavirus situation continues to unfold, the well-being of all staff, students, customers and our community is at the forefront of our minds. As such, as of COB this afternoon the Lilydale Flying School will cease Dual Flying training apart from some limited flight testing. Solo flying and private hire will continue as normal and instructors will be on hand to assist and supervise ninety-day check flights.

TO OUR CUSTOMERS...

Lilydale Airport (and Lilydale Flying School and Yarra Valley Aviation) will be continuing its other operations 7 days per week including Charter flights, Fuel Sales and Aircraft Maintenance. This all means you will still be able to take to the air!

We also encourage you to stay in touch via phone, email and online means below and even visit the airport while responsibly following the latest guidelines on distancing, hygiene management - eg. avoid entering the building unless absolutely necessary. We are lucky to have the fresh air space and green grass to spread out while still maintaining 50m (or even 100m!) distance from the nearest person!

TO OUR STUDENTS...

We are fully committed to continuing your progress and will be rolling out exciting practices to keep your development on track so that you are ready to get back behind the controls as soon as restrictions lift. We will be offering remote learning support in a number of formats - an engaging online presence, regular updates, personalised 1:1 communication with instructors and dedicated phone, email and chat services to answer your questions and assist. You will not be on your own!

If you are ready to take a CASA cyber exam or are getting close to a flight test, please notify us immediately at [email protected]. We will organise a time for you to attend and sit your exam with the appropriate supervision, whilst taking the necessary precautions. Flight testing will also be possible for the foreseeable future.

*IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFO*

Hi everyone!

A quick post to let you know what we're doing during happenings related to Corona Virus. We are open as per usual for all flight bookings, charters and theory lessons, though we caution students to stay at home should they be feeling any effects of the illness

We'll be following procedures to help contain the spread and keep everyone - customers and staff - as healthy as possible:

- Spray out the interior of planes with Glen Twenty before first flight in the morning and between flights during the day, leaving the door propped open to air out

- Apply hand sanitiser liberally as head out to the plane each lesson

- Help out with making sure all surfaces in the office and kitchen are kept clutter-free and wiped down a minimum three times daily

- Recommend all students acquire their own headsets rather than using school's

Please don't hesitate to let operations know of any questions, suggestions or concerns you may have at this time. It is an out-of-the-ordinary time and it is normal to feel different things. Make sure you're reaching out to friends and colleagues and getting things off your chest - we will get through this together!

REMEMBER - your body naturally fights germs and environmental toxins. To further safeguard and protect your body from illness, the following precautions help:

1. Get plenty of sleep
2. Eat regular meals consisting of nutritious food
3. Exercise regularly
4. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated

Today the Habel family day tripped up to Wangaratta for a special treat! Dad got a ride in a Russian L-39 trainer for his birthday and the rest got lunch and a great joyride to get there and back! Happy faces all round - this is what we love about sharing aviation with Australia.
