I’m Mirna — born and raised in Mostar, licensed tour guide, storyteller, coffee enthusiast and professional over-sharer when it comes to Mostar and Herzegovina.

I’ve been showing people around my hometown for… let’s just say, half of my life.😄

Just because you see local boys doing it and making it look easy… doesn’t mean it is. ❗️

Jumping from the Old Bridge is cool.
It’s also extremely dangerous.

For centuries, bridge diving has been a symbol of courage, maturity and tradition in Mostar. But there is a very important difference between a trained diver making that jump and someone deciding to do it late at night, drunk, or without knowing the river, the conditions and the technique.

So please: don’t encourage your friends to jump off the bridge when they’re not in a clear state of mind. Being surrounded by friends cheering you on doesn’t make the jump safer.

Thankfully, the young man in this video is okay. 🙏🏻 But this could have ended very differently.

If jumping from the Old Bridge is something you genuinely want to experience, do it the right way. Join the local diving club, take the lessons, learn the technique, and have experienced local divers there to support you. Klub skakača u vodu "Mostari"
