Types of cargo Ship:
1. Container Ship
A container ship carries goods packed in large metal containers. These containers can hold almost anything—electronics, clothes, food, etc. They are easy to load and unload using cranes at ports.
2. Oil Tanker
An oil tanker transports liquid cargo like crude oil or refined petroleum products. These ships have large tanks designed to safely carry liquids over long distances.
3. Bulk Carrier
A bulk carrier is used to carry loose materials such as coal, grain, iron ore, or cement. The cargo is loaded directly into large open holds without packaging.
4. Gas Carrier
A gas carrier transports gases like liquefied natural gas (LNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). These gases are stored in special tanks under pressure or at very low temperatures.
5. Chemical Tanker
A chemical tanker carries liquid chemicals in bulk. These ships have specially coated tanks to safely handle hazardous or corrosive substances.
6. Ro-Ro Vessel (Roll-on/Roll-off)
A Ro-Ro vessel is designed to carry vehicles like cars, trucks, and trailers. Vehicles can drive on and off the ship using ramps, making loading and unloading quick.
7. Re**er Ship
A re**er ship (refrigerated ship) carries perishable goods like fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish. It has temperature-controlled storage to keep cargo fresh.
8. Cattle Carrier
A cattle carrier transports live animals such as cows, sheep, or goats. These ships have ventilation, feeding, and watering systems to keep animals healthy during the journey.
9. Timber Carrier
A timber carrier carries logs or wood products. The cargo is usually stacked on deck and sometimes inside the ship’s holds.
10. General Cargo Ship
A general cargo ship carries different types of goods that are not suited for containers or bulk shipping. This may include machinery, packaged items, or equipment.
