Blood Program, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society - BDRCS Since 1983 BDRCS blood program in Bangladesh has been motivating people to donate blood and we collect, preserve, screen and distribute blood as required.

Bangladesh Red crescent society blood program was started in 1981 establishing Red crescent blood centre at Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Now BDRCS blood program has 9 blood centres all over the country among those 8 centres are working independently and one hospital based sub Centre in Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital. Main purposes of the blood program are motivation, blood collection,

screening, preservation and distribution of whole blood and blood component to hospitals, clinics and transfusion to thalassemia patients according to the SBTP. The BDRCS blood program meet 11% of the total national demand. There is a CMC committee to develop policy, support and monitor all Blood centres and local advisory committee to monitor, support and advise the peripheral Blood centres.
