Travel can be the classroom. The world can be the lesson.
The Little Blue Church in Bratislava, Slovakia 🇸🇰
One of my favorite things about traveling through Europe is that history isn’t just something you read about in a textbook. It’s something you can actually stand inside.
Take this little gem in Bratislava: the Church of St. Elizabeth, better known as the “Little Blue Church.” 💙
Built between 1909 and 1913, this beautiful church was originally constructed as a chapel for the neighboring grammar school. It was designed in the Art Nouveau style, and almost everything about it catches your eye. From its soft blue exterior and intricate details to the blue-and-white interior.
This is exactly the kind of thing I think about when I talk about traveling with children.
As an educator at heart, these pieces of travel are so important to me. ❤️
Instead of simply reading about what Europe looked like more than 100 years ago, your child can stand in a building that has been there since 1909.
They can ask questions.
They can make connections.
They can compare cultures.
They can see how people lived, worshipped, learned, and built communities in another part of the world.
That's education that sticks.
A European trip doesn't have to be just about the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, or Big Ben. Some of the most meaningful experiences can come from the places you didn't even know existed and the stories they tell.
As a travel advisor, I love helping families create those experiences. Because I don't just want you to visit Europe. I want you to experience it, learn from it, and come home with stories you'll still be telling years later.
