Middle East Regional conflict and operations impact
Due to the ongoing escalation of military actions across the Middle East, the aviation and freight environment is experiencing significant disruptures. Maritime authorities have issued urgent advisories, indicating:
• The strait of Hormuz is reported to be “practically closed” following recent strikes.
• A large maritime warning zone has been declared across the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and North Arabian Sea.
As a consequence, several global shipping lines begun rerouting vessels away from the Red Sea and gulf region, reverting to longer routes as the Cape of Good Hope.
Accordingly, delays, rerouting, schedule changes, service suspensions, and related additional charges may arise without prior notice.
Transit conditions remain fluid until further notice. As the regional situation evolves:
• Delays in airfreight are likely until airspace restrictions are lifted.
• Sea freight transit times may increase.
• Road freight will continue where corridors remain secure but may be affected by border protocols and security checks.
We at Transworld International are actively monitoring shipment routes, rerouting freight where possible, and prioritizing the handling of critical shipments to mitigate delays. We will inform our clients of any update regarding their shipments once available. If you need any further assistance, please reach out to your designated move coordinator at Transworld International.
