We received questions lately:
Is it possible to remove the two brackets in the middle of the frame?
The answer is: No.

Here is why:
1. Those two middle brackets are not “extra parts” - they are structural stabilizers
They help prevent back-to-forward movement of the panniers under:
- braking and acceleration,
- off-road riding and heavy loads.

2.The three-hole pattern is intentionally designed for BUMOT tool box and to be compatible with:
- RotoPax mounts
- Auxiliary fuel containers
- Water canisters
- Other flat-mount adventure accessorie

This is not just a “nice to have” .
It can be critical depending on where you ride:
- In Europe, fuel stations are close together - often every few kilometers.
- In Australia, it is a completely different story:
Distances of 300–400 km with no fuel are common.
Remote outback routes may have no services at all.
- The same applies to:
Africa
South America
Long off-road expeditions anywhere in the world

Having the option to mount extra fuel or water directly on the pannier frame can be the difference between:
"Finishing a route safely"
or
"Being stranded far from help"

Summary:
The two middle brackets with three holes each -

The Millevaches: France’s winter biker madness:

Every year about 3000 bikers ride deep into the heart of France to camp on a cold, windy plateau in December.

Why?
Nobody knows.

It is the French equivalent of the German Elefantentreffen except here the survival kit includes Camembert and red wine, not just bratwurst and beer.

Millevaches isn’t polished or packaged.
Cold enough to wake you up, friendly enough to make you smile.
It is the kind of motorcycling where all blend into one unforgettable winter story.

Vibes:
- Freedom
- Isolation
- Adventure
- Escaping normal life

It is also a tradition.
Many riders return year after year, no matter the weather.
Some still carry stories from the original late-60s editions… and you can feel that history in the air.

And somewhere among the tents, fog, roaring engines and questionable wine…
