🇨🇳Chinese seafarers play an important role in the Brazilian economy, mainly because their workforce is primarily responsible for working on ships with important cargoes that export and import our country. The presence of Chinese seafarers not only ensures the efficient operation of maritime transport, but also acts as a knowledge exchange that promotes cooperation in sectors related to maritime transport and logistics.
Despite the undeniable commercial partnership between Brazil and China and its benefits, there are still many issues that concern us regarding these seafarers, the main one being the "reinterpretation" of the bilateral agreement between the countries, carried out in 2020, which makes it difficult to crew change Chinese maritimes in Brazil, even if they have a valid passport or Seaman's book.
We are still following the developments and consequences of this decision since then and hope that the laws will again be in favor of these important workers!
