3:40am and coming up at the end of my 3 hour shift before Sherine wakes up. Just rounded Hatteras and while more wind would be nice, it’s been such a comfortable trip from Charleston. We’ve been motor sailing under a single engine alternating the whole way. We might be able to get the gennaker out when it’s light and turn the emgine off but, for right now, we’re trying to beat the weather.

It’s quite peaceful sailing at night and you have a lot of time to think. I’m blessed to be able to experience this.
