More Greece!! 🇬🇷
Monday we hit the ground running again with a short jaunt to the Akropoli Metro 🚈 Station to meet our Acropolis Tour guide. This was a 3+ hour tour of all things Parthenon!
There’s the Parthenon 🏛️ viewed from the Acropolis - but that’s not even the real building as it’s been housed inside the actual museum!!
After, we booked it down to the other part of town to Miran’s Deli for a meat 🍖 and cheese tasting. Very interesting.
We ultimately decided on a gyro 🥙 at Just Pita on the street side!

Sunday we attended a Greek Catholic Mass at St Denis Catholic Church, then a brunch at Rooster Cafe before walking to the Parliament at Syntagma Square to view the changing of the guards, taking a sit in the Memorial Gardens and then doing a little shopping.
Later we walked up a bare marble hill next to the Acropolis known as Areopagus Hill or Mars Hill. St. Paul, in the Acts of the Apostles, gives a talk from this hill around 51AD.
The fellas took part in a ‘foot bath’ with a b**r and attracted new prospective clients!

What a great start to our week!
Saturday was a whirlwind, landing in Athens around 11am and arriving to our rooms around 1pm. Since our room wasn’t quite ready, we had some coffee, b**r or Coke, checked our bags with a vendor and took a stroll around some shops at the Monastirakiou area.
Walked through the Little Kook Bakery to take in the extravagant decorations!
Had some drinks and coffee at the rooftop Anglais.
We had a fabulous dinner and returned to our rooms for some much needed rest!

Odeon of Herodes Atticus, on southwest slopes of Acropolis, Athens 🇬🇷.
Built by Herodes Atticus, a rich Greek aristocrat and Roman senator, in 161 AD, in memory of his wife, Aspasia Anni Regilla. The Theatre was destroyed in 267 AD by Herules, Germanic barbarians of 3rd Century AD.
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus - or simply the “Herodeon” as it is more commonly known - is one of the most prominent ancient sites of Athens. And that says a lot, given that Athens brims with all kinds of archaeological attractions and architectural wonders of a glorious past.
Part of the open-air theater’s present fame stems from the fact that it’s nowadays used as a stage for concerts, plays, and all kinds of performances.
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is one of the oldest and most prestigious theatres in the world. In the times of ancient Greece, the amphitheaters called Odeons were used for hosting plays and musical performances as well as gathering places for locals – and the “Herodeon” was the most famous among them.
