TRAVELLING TO MEXICO WITH CHILDREN? HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! ✈️

Mexico is moving forward with new legislation aimed at helping prevent child trafficking and exploitation. The legislation would require adults travelling with minors (under 18) to provide documentation verifying their relationship to the children or their legal authority when checking into hotels and other tourist accommodations.

📌 Where things stand: Mexico's Senate approved the legislation on October 7, 2026, but it is not yet confirmed when the new requirements will take effect or exactly which documents will be accepted.

WHAT SHOULD FAMILIES BRING?
✔️ Bring copies of children's birth certificates alongside their passports.
✔️ Carry custody or guardianship documents, if applicable.
✔️ If a child is travelling with grandparents, other relatives, friends, or without one or both parents, consider bringing a notarized parental consent letter.

⚠️ These are precautionary recommendations, NOT confirmed requirements under the new legislation.

Had a great night at the Air Canada Vacations Product Launch Event this evening! ✈️🌴

I love attending these travel events! Not only are they educational, but they also give me the opportunity to speak directly with suppliers, build relationships with them and ask the questions my clients want answers to!
